I think you are putting too much thought into this. On an efficient, high aspect ratio wing the amount of propulsion it actually takes is surprisingly low to maintain lift and speed. I would much rather worry about designing my foil for the dynamic handling characteristics for the given type...

I may be interested in testing one out. I have been following this thread, and as luck would have it I recently burned up the Kelly controller in the bike I normally daily drive. I guess I pushed it too hard in the heat. I got about 8k miles out of it, though! :D Let me know, as I need to...

When you live in a city and want to ride your bike to the trails and fun spots, it is unavoidable. We all have our own styles and places where different combos make sense. That is why I keep a garage full of bikes with different setups. 8) They last surprisingly (acceptably in my case)...

I have one bike with a magic mary in front and SR244 rear. They work quite well together. The Magic Mary wears down considerably quicker at a rate of about 3 to 1 when you ride it on the street.

That is great that they are working out so well. That is one heck of a little 'bike box' you have on your crane. Please keep us posted on how those bars hold up!

From a social science standpoint this is fascinating. It is really easy to deliver the desired results from your data when you fundamentally affect how statistics are recorded. The 2018 headline will read "NYC has increased bicyclist and pedestrian safety by 50%!" LOL

I have thought about this many times while sitting in the water on low wind days drifting towards somewhere I don't want to be and waiting for a good enough gust to relaunch my kite. I think the much better plan is to have a powered board so that you can generate apparent wind in the lulls...
