    Ozone smell from battery

Thanks guys, appreciate the advice. I'm hoping it's just the leads or fuse holder. I'm not really comfortable opening the thing up and playing around with the insides, so I will try to find somewhere local that is willing to take a look.

    Ozone smell from battery

Hi All, Friend of mine (not on the forum), noticed a strong ozone smell coming from his battery after a long ride (it's this battery: https://bmsbattery.com/ebike-battery/166-48v10ah-li-ion-shrink-tube-ebike-battery-pack-ecitypower-battery.html). I'm guessing he's fried the BMS, but not...

Looking for some advice on a new build please

Thanks motomech, that's a good point, and a problem I already have on the gf's bike. The Q100 I have in there just has a 6 speed freewheel and sits on the 3rd cog (not sure how many teeth, but it looks to be about the same size as the one chas58 was using), and yeah, it sucks on a flat when the...

Looking for some advice on a new build please

Hi wesnewell, Thanks for the reply. That 134.2mm spacing includes an adapter that is meant to get the Q100 up to the more standard 135mm, as shown here by chas58: http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=48848 He was able to remove the adapter and use a bearing to get the right fit...

Looking for some advice on a new build please

Hi RVD, Fair point, but I do think it will make a difference, only because I do lots of pedaling, and so every pound counts when I'm not laying on the throttle to get around. So the whole build is kind of based around losing every pound I can, which is why I am going with the Q100 instead of a...

Looking for some advice on a new build please

Hello ES, Thanks in advance for any advice you guys can give! I recently sold an ebike from the stable, which has allowed me to take on a new build :) Here's the plan so far: -Light weight single-speed bike -Q100H 201 RPM, rear wheel -KU93 Controller -48v 10ah Here's my problems: -I'd like...

Which Battery from BMSBattery for Q100H?? (Project Complete)

+1 on what mlt34 said. I got mine as the bare motor and had it laced by a bike shop. What I saved on shipping wound up being almost exactly the same cost as having it built. It also took the bike shop FOREVER to build it. At the end of the day, I wound up wishing I had just ordered the motor...

    Used ebike market

Maybe people are thinking it's too cheap and there's gotta be something wrong with it. Try selling it at $500 and let people 'negotiate' you down. They'll feel like they got a more expensive product at a steal, and you'll make your sale (hopefully).

Which Battery from BMSBattery for Q100H?? (Project Complete)

Oh also, the reason I say you won't get up to 25mph at 36v is from personal experience: my original setup was 10s (around 40v) @ 22A and I was really underwhelmed by it. Waited about 3 months before I upped the ante to 12s then eventually to 14s.

Which Battery from BMSBattery for Q100H?? (Project Complete)

It's been about a month, but for 2 years before that, I was running it at 22 amps on the KU93 controller. At the time, I was using Lipos and had it at 14s, so somewhere around 58 volts hot off the charger, with no issues. Bear in mind I have the 201 RPM version, not the crazy 328 rpm or whatever...

Which Battery from BMSBattery for Q100H?? (Project Complete)

I don't think you'll get up to 25 mp/h on 36v. I run a Q100 (the original, not the 100H) at 48v, and it's pretty awesome. I recently got this battery/controller for it: http://www.bmsbattery.com/battery-pack/681-bottle-ebike-battery.html That being said, any old battery will do so long as it...

BMSBattery How fast and reliable are they in 2014?

ecity power or something like that was (is?) a supplier for bmsbattery back when I made my original post. I had previously used a 48v 10ah battery that was the same model as what bmsbattery had at the time. What I meant was, I was confident the battery would be fine based on my experience, so my...

Ways to re-charge a lipo battery after it drops below 2.7v

EDIT: just gonna go ahead and reverse the order of my advice for safety's sake: Be really careful if you try to charge that pack back up (as in, do it outside)...technically you shouldn't even try to recharge a cell after it's dropped below 2.7V as it has been compromised. You might be just...

Low voltage cutoff for 10s lipo packs?

Sorry I jumped down your throat...and fair enough, there is a good amount of misinformation floating around and I am certainly no expert. For that reason, I try to never weigh in on subjects where I don't have enough knowledge (and if I ever do, all I do is share my own limited experience as it...
