I just added a 52 tooth chain wheel to replace my 44 tooth chain wheel. I hope to create a little more pedal speed at full throttle. If i could also find an 11 tooth freewheel(not cassette) that would be great. I will post after my test flights LOL.
The GM has a cruise function but not true cruise control. You press a button to hold the throttle setting. It does not hold the speed though so if you come up to a hill you will either slow down or have to pedal to maintain speed. You can use the button or apply brakes to cancel the...
I installed a bike computer. The bike cruises between 35 and 45 kph. In 18th gear(which allows some peddle power)and at full throttle I got as high as 51kph. That's just over 30mph. Lots of fun on my country roads.
Good point about the controller Dogman, so far our Spring weather hasn't been that hot but our summers can get hot and humid.
Wineboyrider I haven't installed a speedometer or used a gps but I think flat out I am getting 30 mph maybe a bit more. I know I can go much faster than my Schwinn...
Just completed a conversion of a Raleigh Hybrid to a 48 volt 1000 watt rear hub motor. It was a bit of a challenge for a newbie but the GM Q and A forum was very helpful. I have been riding the bike for a month and I love it. I am a heavy rider and this motor has no problem moving me along...
Hi guys
In the process of a build and I have to remove my shimano revoshift handle gears to install horn and cruise control. Couldn't find anything here on a search. Even straight bike forums don't go into any detail beyond switching cable. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks
When is a 28 inch tire not a 28 inch tire --when it is a 700X38C. When I bought t my hybrid Raleigh I was told it had 28 inch wheels. When I decided to convert my hybrid I looked at the tire size and it indicates 28X 1/8 X 1 1/2 . It also says 700X38C. I thought I had a 28 inch wheel...
Your ideas would be most welcome. I drive a 2007 Schwin Izip 24 volt(sla) with 450 watt motor. The bike is great but i would like to get a little more speed out of her. I do about 18mph and would like to do 30 or 40 mph on the flat with moderate pedaling. I weigh 220lbs.
I was wondering...
I am having difficulty trying to find an informative yet basic explanation or link on how controllers work. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks
Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. Next year I may think about over volting from 24 to 36 just to "fun" it up. I didn't notice any controllers with this bike so I wonder if I can get away with out having to install one if I over volt the motor.
I upgraded my 12AH batteries to 15AH and have noticed a big improvement in charge life. I called absolute battery in Hamilton, gave them the battery # and ordered the new batteries. With shipping for 2 12volt batteries the cost was $145. I got the battery in 3 days. I spoke with allessa and...
Most powered paragliders run on 2 stroke motors. This gives them a small but poweraful engine to produce thrust. 2 stroke motors can be tempermental, and require regular overhauls.
An electric paramotor may be best suited for pilots willing to trade shorter flights for a simpler and...
An electric motor can become an electric generator. Has anyone in the forum any insights into converting a hub motor to a generator. I am thinking of a powered rear hub with a regenerating front hub. I don't imagine that much power would be generated but could a constant trickle charge be...
