Just completed a conversion of a Raleigh Hybrid to a 48 volt 1000 watt rear hub motor. It was a bit of a challenge for a newbie but the GM Q and A forum was very helpful. I have been riding the bike for a month and I love it. I am a heavy rider and this motor has no problem moving me along. I like the cruise control as I can set it at a pace where I can peddle. I live in the country and the neighbors think that I am in great shape because I move so fast LOL.
Hall sensors either became disconnected or are not working but the motor will function without it. I may look at the hall sensors when winter comes but I am not overly concerned.
In doing my build I decided to put the controller in a frame bag and that is working out.
I like the fact that GM has a Canadian dealer and that he (Gary Salo) answered all my emails promptly.
