Tri This: The Official Tricycle Thread

Like Madrhino I dream about a tilting trike with suspension, this is the latest one I have been thinking about. http://www.tripod-bikes.com/?lang=2 I got rid of my Sun tadpole after rolling it a couple of times.

    Disc Lock

I have cable and U locks but feel insecure having seen videos of thieves stealing bikes secured this way. I noticed my son-in-law using a disc lock on the rear disc of his motor bike and thought this would be good for a bicycle lock if I could find a small one...

    Possible battery supplier

This seems to be a possible supplier for reasonable battery. It is on Ali but the company accepts PayPal. The battery I am interested in is 36v 15Ah, run 2 in series for 72v and the packs are a usable size. Maximum continuous discharge 3C. I have not contacted them yet, just wanted to see if...

How much is getting tested & matched A123 20ah cells worth?

I would definitely be interested in 16 pouches/cells. You mentioned that your supplier is a vendor/pack builder, perhaps it is is possible that he may supply assembled packs. Thank you for all your efforts John.

    Best ebike batt today...?

Hi GP, If you don't want the complexity of Lipo I would also recommend A123 from Cellman. I had a Sun tadpole trike which I recently sold, loved the concept but my back could not take the pounding of no suspension and it is much harder to dodge pot holes with three wheels. The FN-Trike looks...

    BMC/Powerpack motor shaft change

I have a Powerpack motor which has a shaft that is "D" drive for the Matex planetary speed reducer, and I would like to try direct chain drive to an Sram dual drive hub. There is not much shaft available to mount a chain drive sprocket and a one way bearing, would it be possible to press out the...

Help with my 72 volt bike

I am a little confused (not unsual), you start off talking about an X5 and end reffering to a BMC.

    Brainstorming...

http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3348&p=48700&hilit=+dom#p48700 I think you will find these pics interesting, the motor is mounted under the downtube leaving the frame open for batteries. Barrie

Crimper for pins on throttles, hall sensor connectors

Ditto on your request, I have been using your method and yes, it is tedious, also the wires sometimes pull out when disassembling, so I have been soldering as well. A good crimper would make this much easier. Barrie

FINALLY!!! 2nd Ebike on the road

The 2nd looks like a comfortable ride, when not flipping  FS with Big Apples should smooth out the bumps in an almost unbeatable way. Bet your thinking up ideas for 3rd. I did a similar build with a Rocky Mountain Element, 9C 9x7 72V sensorless Lyen controller and know what you mean...

    Manufacturers and dealers to avoid

I ordered two 48V packs from this group buy and have received nothing but excuses, so my $800+ is swinging in the wind. The unfortunate consequence is that I will probably never benefit from another group buy, such as Frodus's excellent organizational skills produced, because I will be afraid of...

Why am I getting regen ?

I have two E-bikeKit 9C rear motors, one is the 10*6 winding, the other is 6*10 and both have the stock E-bikeKit controllers on which I have soldered the shunts. The 10*6 is in a 26" wheel which gives no regen, the 6*10 winding is in a 20" wheel and gives regen when going down hill at over...
