Why the BMS Doesn't Work as You Believe

Your post sounds a lot like those conspiracy theories. Other than that, it's ok I get why someone would feel the need to sound brighter that all those engineers working on BMS, but be realistic man, it can't be that all those EE professionals got it all wrong for some malicious intent... Cheers

3rd party batteries with Torqueedo/E-Propulsion Outboards.

Well to answer my own post, no, it's not an issue. Someone from the forum also does the same thing, and in general, E-Propulsion said it's fine after I contacted them. Cheers myself, you didn't blow up anything

    Axiom: a 100kW+ motor controller

Hey, random question, what connectors are you using for the HV/High Amp connections to the battery/motor? I've been struggling to find a connector capable of handling amps, waterproof and easy to use.

    Nanjing far driver controllers

Was thinking about getting a far-driver, heard really good stuff. Well, seems like Chinese strikes again. Very informative review. Regarding VESC based controller, I see you are referring to HESC. Do you think it's good for 30-40kW? Should I shoot for it? Other option is ASI BAC8000 but it's...

    What is 2022's best controller?

What about Mobipus controllers? Has anyone tried those? https://ballaratebikes.com/products/72v-89-9v-600a-mobipus-72600-foc-sine-wave-controller-plus-wifi-dongle-and-water-cooling Also VESC upgrades, like https://3shulmotors.com/ What a headache, I'm also trying to find a suitable controller...

3rd party batteries with Torqueedo/E-Propulsion Outboards.

As the title suggests, how feasible is the matching of a Torqueedo or E-propulsion electric outboard, with a battery not manufactured from them? I currently have a 14S36P LiIon battery pack, maybe I'll purchase a 14S1P CATL LiFePo4 one too, but I'm wondering if they're a good match. How...

    BLDC Motor shaft heating up

Someone on our team changed the bearings and I removed the seal, temperature increase is much much slower, but it still seems that it's going hot, I'll run some more tests just to be sure. Unfortunately kit-elec-shop has given no replies about the state of the motor, why is it rusty, etc, it's...

    BLDC Motor shaft heating up

Thanks for your input! To clarify, the last test I run was on a hot day, internal thermistor reads 35, water is around 33, casing was the same. Other tests I previously run were on colder days, but still thermistor-water-casing are approximately same temps. Shaft on the other hand gets hot to...

    BLDC Motor shaft heating up

It just caught me off guard since it's on the shaft, and cooling won't do much since it's focused on the windings. Bearings got changed and it spins much more easily by hand. I added water but only with a big bucket and pump, water ended up hitting 33C which might also be an issue, ill focus on...

    BLDC Motor shaft heating up

Shamelessly bumping my own thread, hoping it's allowed. I removed the seal and it's getting less hot, BUT, after 15mins running, the shaft still gets pretty hot to touch, around 50+C and motor body is 35C. Still sounds strange, and I've only been feeding it around 200W. Please please any...

Help in finding the appropriate motor [Student Team]

Seems like qs motors are very highly recommended, so we're thinking of getting one after all. I see that the rated power output isn't very clear though... It's labeled as 4000kW but also sold as 7.5kW and peaked at 13kW. Do you think the water-cooled QS138 4000W motor will be able to give out...

    BLDC Motor shaft heating up

Well it depends on how you define freely spinning. It does need some force to get it started, but after that it does spin, and you can feel the magnets. But overall it does oppose your movement.

    BLDC Motor shaft heating up

Hello, I just got a ME1803 electric motor from kit-elec-shop, and unfortunately, noticed some wear and tear (like rust on the shaft). While that on its own didn't bother me much, when I run some tests the shaft got relatively hot starting from the bottom near the motor body and gradually...
