Fom what i understand its a fixed planetary gear system the only variable being the manual pedal gearing. if i'm wrong please explain how this evo planetary hub changes gears? Its not hard to build a hybrid drive system where the motor drives a 3 speed variable planetary hub or other variable...

yeah its a good price on a cheap bike but not what most are looking forward to riding. Careful -that description on amazon.com is for the aluminum design - your getting heavy steel , sneaky and confusing marketing ploy. i'm looking foward to aluminum chromoly carbon kevlar hybrid designs.

a really good bicycle frame with high quality fancy components should not cost more than 400 - 500 dollars. beyond that price range your into rapidly diminishing performance returns and your paying for cachet and novelty and rare metals but funcionality will not sbstantially increase on a 2000...

those are way too expensive. i see lots of basic bikes for over $1000 to $5000 dollars but i only spent $3000 on my subaru car - i need a cheapo bike $80- $200 size L

i think it might be useful to create seperate categories for hub bikes and motor mounted bikes for e-bike design and testing and photo creations because its hard to sort through the different types of bikes when they're all lumped together. i look through the topics and it would make it easier...

are you sure? wouldn't the voltage be the same? would there be any advantage to switching add-on batteries from serries to parallel? does a higher voltage allow you to back off on the throttle and get the same performance with less current? and longer run time?

does anyone currently use variable voltage switching? i would like to use a switch to change my battery configuration while traveling to take advantage of higher voltage for increased speed and power for hills; then switch down to a lower voltage for distance.
