Common pack design mistakes, how to avoid?

Can we sticky this thread? Cause i've been trying to design a battery build and had a bunch of questions i couldn't find answers for til i went through this thread. Seriously, this thread should be required reading.

    Overjuicing a mid drive motor?

You can, but if you're talking about the brushed motors be prepared to replace them often. If they're brushless they'll last longer than the brushed ones. They still dont like to be overvolted/overpowered as a more expensive motor.

Best Self-Defense for a Lady on an eBike?

The best self defense option would be martial arts classes and awareness. If you're aware of you're surroundings and can avoid potential situations that'll go a long way. After that the ability to actually defend yourself comes next. Thirdly, knives are underrated.

    Advice for cruiser bike build

Augh! No! That springer fork is not strong enough for a bike with a motor. I used to have one on my motorized cruiser, and it would flex alot. Like, and uncomfortably large amount. Other than that you're good to go.

Going to build a custom cruiser, need advice on drivetrain

Hub motor kits are usually easier to put together on a bike, and are less obviously motor'd. For someone like you who has experience, i recommend mid drive. Its also somewhat a preference matter.

Turn signal/brake light kit, do we want one?

Legality differs greatly by location. In some cities by me any bike with a motor is considered a moped. Which means it legally needs a brake light and horn.

Turn signal/brake light kit, do we want one?

Something the size of a hand palm? Well, if you're Andre the giant then yes, and up to 90v? Anything is possible for the right price!

Turn signal/brake light kit, do we want one?

Well, if by multi-voltage you mean I throw in a inverter to take voltages from 24-48 down to 12 then yes, if by compact you mean something you can mount on a seat stem or rear racl then yes, and if by visible you mean plenty bright enough for over 150' then yes. Granted, you will have to run...

Turn signal/brake light kit, do we want one?

Well so far the schematic I made is for a run/turn/brake setup that would use motorcycle style lights and switch to control them, except for brake lights that would be controlled by an e-bike brake. All 12v.

Turn signal/brake light kit, do we want one?

Ya, it would cost more and I could.

Turn signal/brake light kit, do we want one?

I was wondering if making a turn signal/brake light kit us something the e-bike community is interested in. I'm gonna make one for my next build, and was curious how interested other people are.

    I made a thing!

You're totally right that this springer fork is not a good or safe idea. That being said I'm both cheap and poor so until I save up enough for a good triple tree fork the springer is staying.

    I made a thing!

Sweet! Dogman approved! Yes, the fork is for a 26" wheel, and as such is small. Also, no way am I changing the battery holder on this! Ugly rat bike was the idea from the start. My next build ( that's gonna be a mix of cafe racer/motoped inspired) will be the pretty and functional one done right.

    I made a thing!

Oh god no the bike didn't come with that fork, it was a cheap huffy cruiser from walmart. Here's a pic of what it looked like when i bought it. Also, no, the rims don't match because I was cheap as hell an got the rims and hubs separately at very cheap prices and laced them myself because I...
