Alloy forks cracked while tightening the clamp

I've ride like 150km and the forks seem to bee ok... I guess they are just little scars and the sound I head while tightening the clamp was the clamp itself...

    Battery Shorcut

Thank you, thats what I'm doing now. I'll be watching those cells. I hope they will balance. I'm starting to love my ebike.

    Battery Shorcut

I bought from vpower.hk and I'm a bit nervous... I don't really trust those guys (how can you trust a seller who don't pay the DHL insurance when they make you pay for it?), not serious seller from my point of view, next battery I'd buy from ping. I don't know if that unbalance is normal...

    Battery Shorcut

I tried again after charging all night and I get 3.7V between the series group except in 2 that I read 3.4v and 3.3v Is this just not well balanced? (it's in its 3rd or 4th cycle) is this normal? Thank you!

That is what I did and I there was the same voltage diference between the cells (3.5V)... Does this test check every cell in a group (serie) is ok? Thank you

    Battery Shorcut

Hi guys yesterday I was installing my new LiFePo4 48v 20Ah (vpower.hk) and while I was soldering a wire the positive pole of the output of the BMS touched the blak pole right in the broken bridge you see in the picture: The bridges are all connected to the negative pole (black) so I...

Alloy forks cracked while tightening the clamp

Well today wen I was tightening the clamps to install the torque arms I heard a small crack. That happened in both alloy forks, in one fork I can see a tiny line under the clamp, I think it is a fissure... Has this ever happened to anyone else?

That's why I chose front hub, it seemed to me easier though the dropout braking makes it a bit more complex. Thank you, that was my intention. I will post a video and some more pictures wen my battery finally arrives. I hope they motivate your build. No, vpower sent it today.... I payed on...

I didn't call Him but I did e-mailed him. This is what we told me: Hi Guillermo, with the 400 series Crystalyte motor and a 20A controller, one torque arm is usually enough, but it never hurts to have two. With the Crystalyte axles, there is no need at all for a thin inside washer, just have...

That is encouraging, I don't feel like building my own torque arm. I think I'm buying tonight a pair of them from ebike.ca I hope that torque arms work in case the fork breaks or at least I hope they let me control the bike till I stop it.

oh man I should have bought rear motor... I don't think I will feel very safe with a torque arm... is anybody using alloy fork with torque arm and no problems? Will it prevent fork from braking?

No, there is not that kind of stores in my country. I only had room for one:

This is how my dropout looks like: I think it fits perfect, doesn't it? I read in the user manual of my fork and it's alloy... I think I'm not going to ride the bike till I buy some torque arms. Falling down at 40km/h with traffic is no fun. Do you know where I can buy a pair of torque...
