New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

With your current gears and the right battery I would say you should be able to go 10mi/hr up that hill. The calculation below is all theory, but I'm quite confident it's close because I regularly have gone 5mi/hr up a 10% hill with 300 lbs total load with my old 250W TSDZ2 plus maybe 150W of...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hi Jammied, yes that happened to me too. It seems that the address in the browser reflects the setup someone starts with and doesn't update even if you make changes. But the link displayed at the bottom of the calculator DOES update, so you can copy that.

Hey guys, thank you for your work on the gearing Excel/OpenOffice sheet! I'm not trying to stop you. Also, just to clarify, I have no personal interest in that on-line tool. I just think that this is another useful tool to help people with gearing, and shouldn't be discarded too easily. So...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I'm not aware of anyone having used the TSDZ2 with the CA3 or any other controller. The TSDZ2 comes with a controller built in that is tightly integrated with a torque sensor and for me it is the combination of the two that makes the motor great. It also results in a clean build with fewer wires...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

O wow! I like the videos. That motor sounds cool like an angry bee and goes like one too. Looks like they have a torque sensing variant with the same weight as the TSDZ2, Tangent claim 7lb for the motor. But ten times the power! Also about ten times the price. Thanks for the tip!

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Did any of you weigh your bike before and after installation? I think the TSDZ2 is light for what it can do. I picked the TSDZ2 because I want a bit of help biking up hills with two kids, but other than that I want a normal bike rather than an electric moped. So I focused a lot on keeping...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

As another point of view, my experience with the XH-18 has been good. Now I'm less adventurous than eyebyesickle and haven't tried to connect lights, brake switches, higher voltages or change the software. I'm running a standard 36V system with a 36V battery. My XH-18 has been perfectly reliable...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hi RTIII, I googled 'TSDZ2' and 'adaptor' and found those: 104 BCD: https://www.amazon.com/Chainring-Adaptor-TONGSHENG-Conversion-Electric/dp/B071NQJ3WK 130 BCD: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071Z6GJR4 Links to the same parts on eBay and AliExpress also showed up. Eyebyesickle might have better...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I just looked at my bike and it seems to me that Lekkie rings won't fit because they would hit the motor housing. At this point I don't believe that you can get a better chainline on a TSDZ2 using a Lekkie ring. Sorry for going off on that tangent!

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Right, 42t and 52t rings fit on the standard TSDZ2 adaptor, but what happens to the chainline when you put it all together? I assume the 42t is still at the standard TSDZ2 51mm chainline, and the 52t is further out, at around 60mm or so. Do I see that right? If so, it sounds like both are too...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

On the chain line, people have similar issues with Bafang mid-drives and there are suppliers of rings that offset the chain line back a bit, such as the 'Lekkie Bling Ring' or a similar product from Luna Cycles. Maybe there are other suppliers too. Those tend to be larger diameter rings because...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Sounds like a fun adventure and party you had! I'm not far from you then, in the East Bay too. About low gearing, I posted earlier in this topic about having installed a Rohloff internally geared rear hub to get my heavily loaded bike up (and down) the hills here. It offers a 526% gear range...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

When I needed a replacement controller for the TSDZ2 Future Bike in Italy offered a higher power controller plus upgraded metal gear. I contacted them on their info[at]future-bike.it e-mail address. In the end I decided to stay with the normal controller and plastic gear so I have not seen the...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Not nazi stuff I think, seems inspired by the Red Baron, a WW-I tri-plane fighter pilot who won 80 air battles and was awarded an iron cross. He lost his 81st (and died) safely before the nazis came along. Having said that, few people will enjoy anything german, red-black-and-white, military...
