    EBIKERS IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA

Hi gang! I live in Wheeling. I think it'd be great to have an area gathering. I don't know how much actual riding we'd get done with the winter season coming/here. Paul

My first run on my new 5303 motor

I have a 5303 running off a Ping 48v20ah. Lots of fun hitting close to 40mph. With regard to flat tires; I started using Mr. Tuffy liners and have not had a flat in over a year. Tried the Slim tube thing... just ended up with a big mess. Although it's been a lot of fun, I'm going to sell the...

    Ping battery: Shipping Help

Hey everyone, Thanks for the advice. I figured the shipping costs would be very high. I guess I'll attempt to do it myself... unless I can find someone in the Chicago area to do it for me. Who would I take it to? I don't suppose there is a category for Battery Pack Repair in the Yellowpages.

    Ping battery: Shipping Help

Hi everyone, I had a few cells in my Ping 48v20ah pack get puffy and Ping graciously offered to repair it for me. Does anyone know what the most cost effective and safe way to ship my pack to China? I've never shipped overseas,.. i'd imagine it'd be very expensive. Any help would be...

Rear axle for 5303 motor available by itself?

Why are you converting it to a rear? I have a 5303 rear right now, and the biggest reason i want to sell it is because my batteries are mounted on a rear rack... and it's just way too much weight back there for comfort. hmm.... maybe we could do a swap and that'd save u some work. lemme know...

    Do 5303's make noise?

I have a 5303. I didn't think mine made noise (well... of course it makes "noise" but I think you know what I mean.) Anyways,... One day I tied my digicam to record some videos for friends,... and on playback... NOISE! Sounds almost like a banshee wail of a formula 1 car! Okay, not really...

    Battery for a 5303?

oh, btw... using my Ping 48V 20Ah batt on a 26" x5303, I was able to reach 39mph. I have to accelerate really slowly.. otherwise my BMS cuts in. I wouldn't recommend this kind of speed on a mtn bike tho. my handlebars start shaking around 35mph. I find that 25mph is pretty zippy and comfy...

why aren't there any cassette fitted motors?

Subject line pretty much says it all. I just see so many cassettes out their with 11t high gears,... and not many in regular freewheels. What are the design differences between the two? I'm assuming cassettes aren't appropriate for hub motors, but I don't know why. thx, Pz

Has anyone tried ebikes.ca's Nine Continent hub motor?

Hey Justin, Yes, I would for sure. Honestly, I rarely ever switch out of my highest gear (14t rear), so even if it was a 3 speed (if it exists) freewheel with an 11t high gear would be fine for me. Right now I only have a front disc brake. Given, the front brake provides most of the stopping...

Has anyone tried ebikes.ca's Nine Continent hub motor?

I saw a posting on this forum for these same motor kits being sold on an italian website. From what I remember, that site had nine continent motors that were rear-wheel and fitted with disc brakes. If ebikes.ca had that available, I'd definitely splurge.

    Reconfiguring Ping Battery Dimensions

Hi everyone, I just got a Ping 48V 20Ah battery that I would like to mount within inside my bike's triangle. (more even weight distribution). Before I tear off the duct tape, is there anyone out there that has successfully reconfigured the pack's physical dimensions? Right now, it's approx...

    Ping Battery vs others

Patriot, I have a 5303 also. I just ordered a Ping 48v 20ah battery, but my intention is to probably run a 408 motor with it. I am curious to experiment with that batt w/my 5303 and 48V 40A controller tho. I thought that Ping's batts were rated for 2C,.. (on the upper edge of comfort zone...

Frame designed as ebike; where to find?

I'm tempted to buy a complete factory e-bike just because I want the frame. I like the fact that there is already a spot behind the tube the seat-post runs through, in front of the rear wheel. I'd like to just buy the frame itself and not deal with paying for a weak motor & battery I'll never...

    Chain driven electric motors.

oh,... another option (albeit, an expensive one) may be the stokemonkey kit for the xtracycle. Can't remember the webpage, but just try googling it. I'd love to have this setup, except the xtracycle would make my bike a bit too big for my office cubicle.
