I'll answer my own question. I have now found out that there are two versions of the Bafang BBSHD motor, and they are fitted with different temperature sensors. The new controller I've purchased is incompatible with the motor/temperature sensor I have, and hence the 10h temperature warning...

Did you solve this? It sounds exactly like my issue. Same circumstances. Looks as if I may have to buy a whole new motor :(.

OK, well I watched the voltage while activating the motor. I happened to start out at about 53.5V, and after 10 seconds or so, when the motor cut out, the voltage sagged to about 48V (perhaps 47V worst case). Is this really going to cause a trip?

I don't have a second battery with which to test. I think it's more likely to be a loose connection triggering this cutoff. The battery has been wobbling around, unsupported in the frame. Hmmm.

Surely sagging would mean a reduction in power, not a complete loss?

Hi, My Bafang BBSHD has started cutting out after about ten seconds of full power application (via the thumb throttle). I cannot activate the motor again unless I switch the system off and back on. After this, the motor will run for another ten seconds or so. Rinse and repeat. Does anyone know...
