Did anything ever come of this? I've been obsessing about 2 speed gearboxes lately and remember this concept from years ago. I recall there was another member that did this as well but I can't seem to find the thread.

I have yet to read through this whole thread, but I'm so excited after just discovering this that I have to post now! I have been dreaming of an induction hub motor since I got into ebikes and have spent many hours contemplating on whether such a device would work as a hub motor or outrunner...

I just can't seem to wrap my head around this concept. What would happen if you took 2 hub motors and hooked the phases up to each other and then spun one of the wheels? Would both wheels spin at synchronous speeds? 1 acting as a gen and the other as a motor
