    It's time to replace my 22P ... 29E,32E,25R, or 30?

I've been very happy with my em3ev cell_man triangle battery a 14s9p of ICR18650-22P @ 18.5Ah running a geared hub motor MAC-10T. However, after three years of almost constant cruising at 20-30A draws, the capacity is now less than half of what it was new, the voltage drop is very steep, and...

Advice on full e-bike build for someone new to the field

I have both the MAC10T '500W' and BBS02 '750W' on different bikes. They're both closer to 1500W depending on how much you want to gamble with heat. The math doesn't quite add up on the BBS02 '750W' version since it's controller is rated at 48V 25A... (1200W) but I easily push 58V to it. They...

Any suggestions for a comfortable e-bike seat?

I use split seats like the Serfas RX in combination with the Thudbuster suspension seatpost. Both the bikes in my sig have it. I love it. Casually offroad and drop curbs sitting all nice and proper like. You have to be tall for the thudbuster though because it has a minimum height above the...

    Supertux's Second E-Bike: Yet Another BBS02

Post Pics of your electrified 26'r !

That's a 29'er. :) I bought some thinner road tires for it to see if I can break into the 40mph club. :)

Gear Sensor for Bafang BBS02 Mid Drive *+ other mid-drives?*

It would really be nice to see at least the battery voltage, amperage draw and watts. For that I use WattsUpMeter spliced into the mix when I want to know, but even that is more junk hanging off the bike... I might add a Turnigy Wattmeter with remote shunt at some point.

    My first build, commuter/grocery getter.

Gear Sensor for Bafang BBS02 Mid Drive *+ other mid-drives?*

Inspecting my chain and gears, there's some scrape marks where metal on metal didn't get along very well but it's no big deal and to be expected. I really beat the crap out of my bike and all I really care about is the battery and BBS02 controller. Everything else is just a wear and tear...

Gear Sensor for Bafang BBS02 Mid Drive *+ other mid-drives?*

Is this really a necessary thing? I have no problem with my BBS02 shifting up or down under full throttle. Parts: SRAM PG1050 Cassette, KMC X10SL chain, SRAM X9 shifter (indexed), lotsa oil & periodic cleaning. I use the front derailleur in a fixed position without any cable to keep the...

    Bike/Ebike Tools

If you're going to build your own wheels I recommend reading 'Jobst Brandt's The Bicycle Wheel' for all the theory and what not. (RIP Jobst!) I started off with the 'Park Tool Professional Wheel Truing Stand - TS-2.2' this thing is really intended to be bolted permanently to a workbench, but I...

    Bike/Ebike Tools

I had a lot of problems with busted spokes and cheap chinese rims when I got into this hobby. I learned to build my own. I went and bought all the park tools necessary to properly build, balance, tension and dish wheels. (I order custom spoke lengths online.) Expensive, but never regretted it...

    Supertux's Second E-Bike: Yet Another BBS02

I have a Toppeak seat post rack that I can fit on the BBS02 mountain bike if I remove the rear fender, so all my slide on commuting bags and even a Toppeak rail grocery basket will fit. I can throw a few beers in there, motor on over to my favorite spot, remove the rack and replace the fender...

    Supertux's Second E-Bike: Yet Another BBS02

Sorry for the late replies I've been out of the scene for awhile, but still riding! The pack is doing fine too, 2.5 years of hard riding and still enough to get me 10 miles to work. Here's my thoughts on commuting with them both: I like to ride both bikes WOT as fast as possible whenever I...

    Supertux's Second E-Bike: Yet Another BBS02

I got the studded tires and they worked awesomely after carefully breaking the studs in and provided there's not too much snow. Rode it on the lake about 25 miles per hour quite safely, no sharp turns though. Fat Bikes were out and like WTF?

    Cresh's Commuter

We got a bunch of those around here, but without the bike cut away. Doesn't stop me from hitting them at 35mph, good quality forks & suspension seatpost for the win!
