5404/5403 The good The bad The ugly

SkyCaptain - On 30s I did a max speed of 75 that my iPhone recorded. but to be honest, i wasn't trying for a max speed. I dare say there would have been more in it, how much, not quite sure. I upped it to 36s to be a little silly and see what i "could" do, but alas, i fried the controller...

Well im in love. I couldn't get enough of it... Stupidly i upped my lipo pack to 36s and looks like i have killed my 18fet lyen :( I belted this motor hard for 20ks and it hardly got warm.... Just need better brakes now.

    Downhill rims anyone ?

Be careful with the Mavic. I got one and while yes the rim is essentially built to withstand nuclear warfare, the design of eyelets restricts the thickness of the spokes dramatically. On my HT3540 you could actually see through the spoke holes on the motor due to them having to be that small...

How many others are having issues with the pi55 poor hole spacing for the rotor..

    So who's getting an iPad 3 ???

I was one of those clowns that was in the line up the morning of March 16. Not because I wanted to but because one of my staff members was leaving and she always wanted an iPad. Standing in the line up I got a little peved because I realised that all this waiting and I can't even play with it...

    Crystalyte Rewind

I like speed :D It's on a 26" rim. Not really concerned if it's close to the cost of a new motor. I'm just getting impatient waiting for my new one and would like something to play with over christmas. So i guess what im also getting at is that there is nothing special about these motors that...

3.5kw. @ 132v But my issue was from the 120% mode on the Lyen controller. I wasn't planning on doing it myself, bugger that for a joke. I would get it done by a pro.

    Crystalyte Rewind

Hi guys, I have a HT3525 sitting here that i cooked within an hour of use :( Now I do have a new motor coming as part of Hyenas group buy but im getting itchy feet and wana get the bike up and going again. Is there much involved in getting it rewound? expensive? not worth it? Never ever done...

What happens in throttle modes over 100% ?

DON'T DO IT! The 120% mode has killed 3 of my motors now. Watch your CA when you do and look at the current it's drawing!

    New Crystalyte Motor series (HT35 / HS35 and HT24 / HS24)

You are going to machine out the axle first though, aren't you?! I had enough trouble getting the upgraded phase wires plus the halls in. water lines? :O Another thing you need to consider as well is having to carry enough water around with you. run out of water and pop goes your motor. I'm...

    Excess current draw.

This man is correct. I'm using 4115's I finally found my programming cable so I'm going to have a play and see what happens.

    Excess current draw.

Interesting... I can't load it up a whole lot at the moment as there is no rim on it (apart from a rag over the hub) It doesn't shudder or cog. With the 120% mode would that be something relative to crystalytes or was i just pure ass lucky with my old setup being able to take it daily?
