    Questionable Vendor behavior

(yes. The neg. and pos. inside the cell has switched polarity making the voltage of the cell reversed.) Well. Because I think all vendors should have a chance of cleaning up their mess before hanging them out as "bad" publicly. And before that what I am wondering is, and would appreciate...

    Questionable Vendor behavior

A man ordered and payed for a 48V 20Ah Li-ion battery pack form chineese vendor using paypal. After a long wait the battery arrived and the man stored the battery for a little while, since other parts for his build had not arrived. Then when the build started he found that the battery only gave...

Silver Bullet - A 1998 Hoffman "George" BMX conversion

Lucky kid!!! (You have probably allready thought it yourself: but at some point in time, that kid is going to take initiative to impress dad, by connecting up his own battery.... I hope you have given him the safety-lesson... ;) anyway. Awsome dad!!

48v battery gauge on 44,4v battery (done)

Yes, I found that out to. Why I went for the trimpot instead of fixed resistors. (Just added a 10k ohm r between the pot and ground, to be sure not to fry the controller output by turning the pot to the max). Since I do not know the exact resistance of the gauge during operation, I am doing a...

48v battery gauge on 44,4v battery (done)

Solved. (10k resistor + pot) = adjustable voltage divider...

48v battery gauge on 44,4v battery (done)

Ok. I think I got the answer for the tiny voltage divider circuit i need... Im learning by doing here, so PLEASE correct me if I am wrong (so I do not fry anything testing it) V(in): 44,4 volt (-from the CA-plug on the controller on 12S pack) V(out): 37 volt (-to the eZee Battery Gauge...

48v battery gauge on 44,4v battery (done)

    * Second thought: Since The Battery Gauge is a "active" device in that it regulates the controller A-output based on the shunt reading threw the CA-plug: will this voltage modification interupt its behavior or communication with the controller too? I guess the communication-voltage is at 5v both...

48v battery gauge on 44,4v battery (done)

Not A bad idea, but want to keep it as clean as possible, so want to find a way to configure the unit (if possible).

48v battery gauge on 44,4v battery (done)

I just tried out Grin`s version of the eZee Battery Gauge with "CA-plug" controller interface. Its a good little product with its basic configurability (although simple), and I can so far recommend it (for its purpos). The bike is built for a non-tech-savy person, so wanted to keep it simple...

Your Creation's Before & After Pics

Thanks. It is a CroMo fork from Ruff Cycles in germany (with shortened legs on this one). The bike was thrown together out of my left-over parts-bin, so front motor is just a coinsident.

My crack at building the fastest hotrod 9C on the planet...

This fits into my experiences to. Did just above 73 kph (about 45mph) on my last motor with a 20s at 40-some amps.. I do not know the winds on these particular ones, but I am guessing its one of the higher ones based on that number of loaded rpm. But as you say, 4000w+ generated more heat than...

My crack at building the fastest hotrod 9C on the planet...

Dual-side phase-wires is unfortuanently not an option since the Crogenic needs the other side (but a good idea I need to remember for later). Yeah, there is that thread that learned me to do the wire upgrade in the first place. I have been looking for that :) Thanks Used your how2-post, and a...

My crack at building the fastest hotrod 9C on the planet...

Thank you for your input. I have not decided on wheel size, but as you say, the smaller the better i guess. Wow, 1000w more mechanical power based solely on lowered winding resistance? That is a good number for any air-cooling system. What kind of motor was he using? (just asking to get a feel...
