Hello, I am new to this and just recently built an ebike using sabvoton svmc 7245 controller with ukc1 display and a generic motor from akez (I will udpate the motor in the future). It is currently running on 48v. The motor is a 500w on a 20" fat tire. I was able to get the hall test done sucessfully and the bike runs however the speedometer is completely off. I have adjusted the settings in the display for a 20" wheel and also in the controller I adjusted the poles labeled motor pn to 10 since I opened the motor and counted 20 magnet. It is showing that I am going over 60mph while I believe I am at 23-25mph. What other settings am I missing?

You’ll need to supply more info about the motor. My guess is that with a 500w rating, it’s likely a geared hub motor. That means in addition to the poles, you need to account for the geared reduction. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the display supports that parameter. Either way, you’re likely out of luck, since the controller doesn’t support a separate speed sensor input (white wire is reserved for a temp sensor), and geared hubs won’t display speed when coasting (not on throttle), so require either a speed sensor built into the motor, or one mounted externally. Your motor likely has a white wire on the hall connector for speed, but as mentioned, the controller doesn’t support it.

You are correct, it is a geared hub. Thank you for the answer and now I wont look into this more and live with this for now until my new motor comes in which is a direct drive.
