I use 14S so 58.8V hot off charger, 40A controller, I get around 31mph. Motor noise is minimal, you don't hear anything once you get going anyway.

    MAC motor worth it?

This is exactly the setup I use and I agree. I wish I could purchase more Mac motors with controllers, any one have any leads it would be much appreciated. I went straight to MacMotorTech but comms with them is awful and I haven't been able to progress an order.

    Low Power All-In-One?

You're right about the battery size being very small, I was thinking of something which I now realise has opposing technical requirements. I think I'm going to have to scratch this idea.

    Low Power All-In-One?

Does anyone know of any small low-power all-in-one motors available? Something with the battery and controller inside the motor? There are a few all-in-one's, but they all appear to be larger or more powerful than I would like. Looking for something stealthy that can fit behind a disc rotor.

    Mac Side Plates Issues

Interesting amberwolf. Seeing at this is happening with two separate motors it can't be the axle, but I will bear your info in mind for the future. I'd like to weld up the side plates to be honest, I checked with a magnet and they are not ferrous, I'm not sure what metal is used in the Mac...

    Mac Side Plates Issues

I've been running Mac motors for years quite happily with the only issue being replacing a clutch on one motor after a few thousand miles. However, recently the side plates having been coming loose due the screws holding them on, either snapping off the screw heads or just falling out. I've...

Have You Built Battery Pack WITHOUT BMS?

Cheez, I ran my bikes on LiPo for years without a BMS. IMHO you don't need a BMS with LiPo, the act of charging them balances them out. I used to check the balance of my LiPo every few months and they would be so close I didn't need to balance charge, but I would anyway just in case it helped...

    My first wheel lace job

I'm thinking of lacing my first hub soon. You don't mention how you calculated spoke length? Did you use an online calculator? Did you just use existing info on the rim or did you measure it yourself?

Em3ev no longer selling Mac Motors

I've never used a torque sensor before, seeing as I mainly zoom around throttle only I've never really needed one I don't think. For an upcoming build I will want PAS so might go for this. Also PRS, I notice you went for a 100mm BB version of the torque sensor - I use the EEB enduro frame...

Em3ev no longer selling Mac Motors

Thanks to PRW I have now made contact with Shelly from MacMotorTech, just asking for some prices on various kit. Very interested to see that they have a new kit with an 18fet controller up to 60A with more modern higo connectors. PRW I see you ordered the 18fet controllers, what are they...

Em3ev no longer selling Mac Motors

How about Infineon controllers? I normally use the 12fet 40A version from em3ev who are no longing selling them. Does anyone know of a good supplier? Does MacMotortech also sell these? Thanks, Lee

Em3ev no longer selling Mac Motors

So it seems to be getting harder and harder to pick up a Mac motor, I've found a few left in various places but getting hold of the Infineon controllers is even harder. Does anyone know what happened? Are there any other high powered geared motors available? Seems like the BMC has also gone...

    Molicell P42a 20s13p Build

Nickel current charts are available by googling but I'm not aware of a chart that includes copper as well. I think it would be hard to work out because people tend to include a large amount of copper sheet and small amount of nickel to hold in place. Also I would have thought you would need a...

Fat Bike Front Fork with Rear Mac Motor?

Looks like it's only rear 8t. I might have to learn how to lace up and true a wheel myself and be done with it. Or go mid motor which are widely available.

Fat Bike Front Fork with Rear Mac Motor?

MadRhino: Because the disc brake is on the left on a rear motor and right on my front fork. But yes I now realise my error re freewheeling  Both: This is to make 2WD, already have a Mac 8T on rear and am well aware of importance of TA's. I'm not interested in DD motors like the...

Fat Bike Front Fork with Rear Mac Motor?

Hi, I notice that fat bike front forks have 135mm spacing like standard rear spacing. Has anyone used a rear Mac motor in a front fat fork but run in reverse? If so would the disk brake align with the mount?

First Battery Build 21700 Molicel P42A

Yeah that’s what I was suspecting, always good as a backup or second location charger anyway. It’s a 4A charger but only actually outputs 3.5A max.

First Battery Build 21700 Molicel P42A

So, i’ve got two of these YZpower chargers, when I put them in parallel only one of them works. It seems like there is some kind of intelligent sensing that prevents the charger from working if the other is on. Is there any way around this?
