    Reverse trike search

Thanks for the replies folks. I found a good candidate, but seems to be only sold overseas. Troikar bike. It's still a front load version, but the front independent suspension would be worth a shot. QBGyUIxkuIc First, I would toss the baby seat. Lower the stem and change the handlebars...

    Reverse trike search

I've been looking around the net for a reverse trike setup with an upright sitting position and has front shock suspension. The usual examples I've found is either front load tricycles: Or recumbents. Some recumbents have some cool, but expensive front suspension: I want to remove...

    Ni-MH battery recommendations

Hello folks. I have some Makita drills at work that use Ni-MH batteries. I have abused these two batteries for years and they still work great. Those batteries don't seem to require any kind of battery managment. So, I would like to swap my broke LifePO4 36v 10ah for maybe a 48v 20ah...

Do You Like Your Day Job ?

I currently 'tolerate' at a company in the oceanographic world. Right now, BP is probably breaking our equipment trying figure out how dirty the Gulf is. Good for business, but that doesn't mean I like it. Also, we were aquired by a big acquisition corporation not too long ago and...

    Electric bike 'flow pedals' footrest

Well, I don't have any but that would be cool to mount a collapsible baton where the bike pump is. If someone tried to attack you on your bike, you could just grab the baton and bonk them on the head.

Which KHS model is best for a FS ebike?

I'm currently using a KHS Alite500 hardtail, so I don't have any tips on mounting batteries around a FS shock so far.(Go for it !) But, like other people have mentioned here, you will definitely notice a balance difference by trying to mount batteries low as possible near the center of the...

    Electric bike 'flow pedals' footrest

Yea, it's just a KHS Alite 500 entry level MTB . Probably made in Taiwan. I think companies like Specialized changed the 'Made in China' sticker to 'Crafted in China' . Maybe my bike was 'Crafted in Taiwan' or 'Built in Taiwan'.

    Electric bike 'flow pedals' footrest

For those of you messing around with your own no-pedal e-bike setups, BMX 'flow pedals' from http://www.curbrider.com (thank you John) might be a cool foot rest option for you to try. Unless, you folks already own no-pedal e-bikes such as the UltraMotor AZB Excel or Toto Design Mosquito which...

"We don't believe in that sort of thing...."

Yea, what's with the snobby attitude around bike shops :? So, next time anybody hears some of that 'we don't believe in that sort of thing' talk, say "well, anybody can pedal a bike". I wiki 'bicycle' and there is a picture of an e-bike near the top of the page...

Mission Accomplished: Electric Motorcycle Hits 150 mph

Cool. I've been wondering about that 150mph claim from their website a while ago, even after Ilse of Man participation. I also saw the tech headline at http://www.gizmag.com today along with a bunch of other electric vehicle headlines. Electric revolution, baby.

The battery I use right now is a 36V LiFePO4. This is all new to me so I wanted to make sure the components (from Hi Powered Cycles .com) were pre-wired for plug and play because I have trouble with electronics beyond a TV remote. Here is a quick example mockup made from spray painted...

Vim, your frame kinda reminds me of an old unpainted aluminum warbird or racecar. 8) That would be sick if your box was contoured.

Thanks Vim. Well, basically I just cut the ABS plastic sheets (from local Tap Plastics store) to fit around the battery. The paneling was simply joined with Weld-On #16 solvent cement. It's a pretty strong bond, but who knows how long it will last. The side door is hinged and closed...
