XPD: open-source keywin e-bike lab replacement

Ok NeilP for your thoughts, but that does not help me as to what values to enter now. Do I enter the required ACTUAL value or half what I require. And what is the significance of the three different Infineon 3 profiles; in particular the one with a description 12fet_32s compared to the one with...

XPD: open-source keywin e-bike lab replacement

I am confused as to what values to program an EB309 Cellman IRFB4110 for Battery current and Phase current. Last year I read that the EB312 profile is used and setting the current value twice smaller than desired. That was with an earlier version of XPD; I am using the latest version of XPD...

    GNG, 1000W 48V BB-drive, $400

Update on my resin cast sleeve pulleys 107T/18T 20mm belt on the GNG. I have been testing the setup now for over a week and the system seems to be holding up ok with no signs of wear to either the belt or pulleys. I still haven’t decided whether to stick with the belt and pulley of go for the...

    GNG, 1000W 48V BB-drive, $400

An update on my resin cast pulleys. Before I make a housing to cover the new pulleys and belt I have been making a few test runs. So far it’s looking promising the belt has not slipped and the pulleys have not given out yet, but I have only done a few miles on the road and tracks. The large...

    GNG, 1000W 48V BB-drive, $400

Hi Christer The power measurements were just to show the power loss being introduced by the original GNG belt tensioner; with its extreme wrap around the 14T motor pulley in an attempt to achieve more teeth engagement. The motor was tested on the bench with no load on the output side of the...

    GNG, 1000W 48V BB-drive, $400

Hi redstone That spacer will not fit without cutting it down when you have the Lighteningrod side plates. It fits in between the side plates and the support strap for the motor onto the bike downtube.

    GNG, 1000W 48V BB-drive, $400

I fitted Lightningrod’s adjustable side sheet kit; and I managed to cast the large pulley 172mm diameter 107T. The tooth profile is good but there is some runout of the large pulley sleeved on the original 80T aluminium pulley. I decided that I will add some bearings on either side of the belt...

    GNG, 1000W 48V BB-drive, $400

While I am waiting the arrival of some of the LighteningRods side sheets I ordered. I have been working on the drive pulleys. So far, I have managed to mould and resin cast the 14 to 18T slip on adapter, seems ok, and fits snugly on the motor. I tapped a 5mm thread in the motor shaft and...

    GNG, 1000W 48V BB-drive, $400

Iperov , I am using my 450W GNG with a 36V controller and 12s LiFePo4 ~39V, I have a Nuvinci N360 hub. With WOT and No load apart from the chain and N360 in a 26” wheel, the CA shows 108W. Out on the road climbing a lot of 10-15% hills @ 800W; my average power usage is 25 Wh/mile.

    Tonaro User group

Floyd, I have no experience of the Tonaro or derivatives, but I do use a Nuvinci N360 hub. My feeling is like d8veh that you are not getting the full range of ratio change with your N360. I know there have been some issues with the N360 if not installed properly. Just to give you an idea of the...

Speedict Ebike - Anybody seen/tried this?

Is it possible to use gps with maps that I have installed on the android phone rather than having to use google maps on line? I use Pay as U go phone and data transfer costs money when I already have maps on the Phone SD card. The gps works on the phone but unless I connect to data I can’t see...

    Efficient pedaling with Cyclone 36/48v

Hi boostjuice et al I've made a few more measurements with and without the gearbox. I tried to take readings at comparative points but there may be a few RPM between them. First set with gearbox so readings are at the box output shaft. I took some temperatures as well. Gearbox temp started at...

    Efficient pedaling with Cyclone 36/48v

OK boostjuice here are some more figures. I made 3 measurements without the gearbox: 1022 RPM 0.49A 39.8V 19W 2980 RPM 1.39A 39.55V 55W 5912 RPM 2.71A 39.33V 106W And with the gearbox factory grease, at the output shaft of the box: 109 RPM...

    Efficient pedaling with Cyclone 36/48v

Because I was just checking for wear in the gearbox, I thought I would make some measurements. So here is a video of me testing the Cyclone 650-1200W motor with the gearbox removed. Obviously no load applied to the motor. Measuring motor RPM and current at full throttle. 39.5V 5959 RPM (so as...

Nearly completed FS with Cyclone and Nuvinci N360

I am just finishing my bike rebuild ready for the warmer (drier?) weather to arrive. I’m using a cheap FS aluminium frame, Marzocchi Bomber forks, with a modified cyclone kit, 3 chain ring crank (48T/44T/36T), and 36V with 20A controller. I have replaced the Dicta freewheel on the crank...

    Nuvinci N360 hub

Philistine interesting review, nice to see someone else has a similar set up to me. I have also got the new Nuvinci N360 and a Cyclone drive through the crank. I have my motor (3 chainwheels type) mounted forward of the crank and can still use 2 of the chainwheels up front to drive the sprocket...
