how to calculate electricity costs for charging batteries

 Turn off all electric consuming items in your house and verify this by checking your electric meter. (use electric breaker panel and leave one plug circuit on) When the meter is no longer moving note the readings. Plug in charger and charge your battery. When the battery is charged check...

    Cheap LiFePo4 on ebay

A 48 volt battery pack on a Golden Motor kit will work but you may melt the wires that feed power into the hub motor or the 36 volt controller can fail if you push it too hard. At least that was what people were experiencing about a year ago with the Golden Motor hub drive motors that came with...

Decent penetration, the bead is a little rough though. Try more flux or inert gas next time.

    Advanced Capacitor Theory

This is pure speculation but I doubt that EESTOR would put a product on the market that would allow a bunch of amateur hobbyist, without bypassing safeguards, to blow themselves up and generate negative press on the product. I would think such a high voltage capacitor system would be put on the...

The LiFePO4 Headway cell 38120P TEST REPORT inside

Looks like a lot of work to demonstrate the ambient air temperature fluctuations in your lab. Just another parameter to report on, keep up the good work :!:

I would be interested in seeing a schematic that shows how the cells should be connected to the BMS. Thank you, Dale

    Electric GIANT STILETTO 48V 20AH

Good luck on your project. I used a Goldenmotor on my first e-bike because the price was right. I had to make some spacer modifications to make the motor fit my forks along with a list of other problems but the bike works. If you use a voltmeter to monitor battery low voltage you don't need to...

    Ah or Wh

1 coulomb is the amount of electrical charge in 6.241506 × 1018 electrons 1 ampere represents the rate of 1 coulomb of charge per second 1 ampere-hour is equal to 3,600 coulombs (ampere-seconds) The amp hours of a cell describe how many electrons are available for use from that cell. I...

Help with determining what type of lithium pak?

Are you sure you didn't buy one of those Li-uNoBtaNeIum batteries on ebay? I hear they are hard to find :P but you can get a lot of mileage before they explode.

    Bitchin' Rear View Mirror

I use the handlebar end mirrors and they do a good job. I have had my bike drop over on the mirror side in the garage and the mirror just folded over with no damage. I think they work better on a standard bike, on my BikeE recumbent my shoulder is in the way a little.

Need advice on my latest Christalyte 408 problem

Can you post some pictures of your motor? When you remove the side covers on a hub motor the armature is pulled to the magnets at the rim and it is not easy to remove to replace the hall effect sensors. You will be able to test the wires with the side cover off with out having to remove the...

    oh the agony!

Sure looks like a shorted FET to generate all of that heat. Do you have a fuse between the batteries and the controller? What kind of connector were you using that came apart? A coil discharge from the motor could have created a pretty high inverse voltage spike.

    buying a SLA charger.

I use a Soneil 48V 3.5A Constant Current charger and use 30A Anderson powerpole connectors which can't be plugged in backwards. It was expensive but is supposed to do all of the things to extend SLA battery life.

Relationship between degrees, percent slope, and ratio

That number looked too small and of course it was. I was trying to interpret paragraph 3 of 9.3 Road Gradient Units, and how to calculate power consumption. The kreuzotter page can calculate theoretical power quantities but is to generalized for what I want. With my CA I know what my power...

Relationship between degrees, percent slope, and ratio

Sorry all, I was doing maintenance on my computer and all of the downloads were making my distorted view of reality worser and worser. :) I think the chart does an excellent job in showing the relationship of how slopes are expressed. Now then, using the next article posted I figure I can...

Relationship between degrees, percent slope, and ratio

Okay, so it is metric. Now that we have that cleared up we won't crash our EVs on the back side of Mars. But we all know that you can't give more than 100% except for coaches. This thing is all screwed up.

the ideal and practial motor solution

It is hard enough to find room on a bike to put batteries to get all of the Ah I want, but to add a large outside case spinning motor just so I have a one to one ratio with the drive wheel doesn't seem to make much sense. I think hub motors are best put at the center of the wheel where they are...

The Nano-Tube Solution - "Yes" - Case Closed?

An ultra capacitor would definitely be a good solution if someone can produce them with the power density to compete with Lithium, the recharge rate is the biggest advantage. One problem with carbon nanotubes, that may slow development, is toxicity concerns...
