    Charging 44v 10ah lipo pack? 4x 22.2v HK batts

I will consider a thunder 1220 once I have more funds as that is ideal. For now I dont mind it taking 8 hours, that is fine as I can just leave it to charge without having to come back every two hours to swap over. So I need parallel charge and balance cables to parallel them and balance...

    Charging 44v 10ah lipo pack? 4x 22.2v HK batts

Hi guys Got 4x 22.2v 5ah batteries connected up to make a 44v 10ah pack. Got the cheapest £20 charger off HK but finding it a pain having to charge each battery one by one. Is there any other quicker way to do this without buying an expensive charger? Thanks

Friction drive BMX in the making......

That wouldnt work as the motor will then not reach the tire. Ive tried a few variations but all points to shortening the actual motor plate and also making/using a different bracket/mount for the seat tube. :( I tried what Adrian said and did notice that the motor grabs the tire best at the...

Friction drive BMX in the making......

Thanks for the tips Adrian and Hillhater. The motor Im using is 200kv 63mm So basically I need to shorten the actual motor plate firstly as it is far too long especially when compared to the commuter booster. Then I will try the test where I need to find the right geometry to get the motor to...

Friction drive BMX in the making......

Hi guys I have put this friction drive bmx together but need some help/advice to get it working properly. I think the stem Ive used is too short as the motor hangs pretty far away from the tire. When I give it some throttle the motor jumps towards the tire but slips rather than climbs the tire...

How to use ebike throttle with esc???

I have just received my esc in the post and soldered the connectors on it, it is ready for bench testing with my small outrunner. How do I run this using a ebike throttle? Sorry for the newbie question but eager to spin up the motor.

    Ideas to covert a lowrider...

Thanks for the various ideas some things to think about. Drilling 36 more holes into the hub seems a good idea but not something I can do personally. A friction drive could be a good option but means i will have a cover over the parts which will take away from the overall look but not much...

    Ideas to covert a lowrider...

Hi guys Got this lowrider I want to convert but racking my brains on what will or wont work. This bike is for cruising and doesnt need to be very fast at all, no more than 15-18mph maximum with steady acceleration as if it was a road legal 36v 250w hub motor. Hub motor is my first idea but...

    Raleigh Chopper conversion ideas.....

HI guys I have this raleigh chopper that I want to convert for fun, I want it to be road legal (UK) so 36v 250w is sufficient. Just need some suggestions how to go about this, Im pretty sure a rear hub will not fit in the dropouts so does that mean no options but to be front hub driven?

    Rear wheel drive bmx conversion.

Hi guys I have a old claud butler fitted with a 48v 1000w hub motor, the batteries are turnigy rc batteries so Im not a newbie so to speak. I am about to buy myself a bmx and want to run it with a road legal 36v 250w motor but dont like the idea of it being front wheel drive which seems by far...

Modding a cheap ebike controller (similar to ecrazyman's)

Thanks for the reply. I dont need to up the volatge at all 48v is what I will run at, the changing of the FET's and modding the shunt can be done but last time I had to solder in a resisitor to stop the motor from cutting out. (C20) Maybe you are not familiar with these exact controllers but...

Modding a cheap ebike controller (similar to ecrazyman's)

Hi guys I did have a standard ebike controller off ecrazyman but it blew before I got a chance to put some 3077 FET's in. The controller was fairly cheap and I had problems from the start with it until a resisitor was soldered across the C20 which then made the bike rideable allbeit with hardly...

    Reduction gearing 170kv for 24v

Hi I have basically got myself a working RC ebike running a 170kv Turnigy motor at 48v. The motor runs a 16t belt which drives a 72belt, this in tern runs a 11t sprocket to a 65t sprocket on the rear wheel. This is good for around 25mph which is just perfect for me. (26"wheel) Now I want to...

    mid drive hub motor advantages?

This has become very informative with loads of decent views and information. To be totally honest Im not sure if my motor is geared or a direct drive its a standard ebike kit I got from China. Its also pretty big so if I was to run this mid drive it would have to mounted inside the frames...

    mid drive hub motor advantages?

Well the Indian mound is at least 25-30ft high, you cant have been back home for over 10 years my friend. The craw fish as still as good as ever but my wife is away and I cant make em the way she does. I'll probably just stick with the hub motor in the wheel as theres not much use going up the...

    mid drive hub motor advantages?

I have at my disposal 3 different ebike kits one is a 36v 250w hub motor a 36v 500w hub motor and a cyclone knock off kit rated 48v 450w. The 36v 250w motor is okay as I run it at 48v but is really just for commuting as it hasnt got much power at all, need to pedal on start up to get the bike...

    mid drive hub motor advantages?

Hi My bike isnt really heavy at all neither am I, im like 75kg and the bike is about 30kg. I wouldnt be doing many complete stops just slowing down (braking) then accelerating back upto top speed. From the answers I have here so far some say the hub mid drive is better than in the wheel others...

    mid drive hub motor advantages?

So running the bike through the gears will help with torque and acceleration to an extent, also using the gears will keep the motor running at a more efficient speed. Kind of the opposite of how a car or motorbike would work, you want to get max rpm out of each gear before changing this will...

Smallest outrunner to use comparable to 500w Hub

Using a ebike controller is alot cheaper and more reliable than a RC ESC, so I will go with that. The 170kv motor run at 24v does seem like an attractive idea, so I will consider doing something along those lines. Thanks
