A cuppla questions about batteries (noob)

I'd just get about 6 of these for a 44.4v or 66.6v setup: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__16207__Turnigy_5000mAh_6S_20C_Lipo_Pack_USA_Warehouse_.html Get a good charger/powersupply and maybe get Icecube57's wiring harness: http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=30367...

Complete useless idiotic dummy ( that is me)

Does anyone know if that on - off switch is really needed or if I can just splice the wires together and do away with the whole thing? I never use it and it just ends up in the controller bag taking up space..

    E-bike speed limits wtf?

I agree 25 mph. 30 mph - starts feeling a little fast to control, can't really pedal to keep up, and the wind noise gets to me. I pretty much keep at 25 mph anyways. True enough, do 25mph all you want and you probably don't get hassled : )

New Build, New Builder, Noob questions.

A lot of people opt for a bike with some suspension, even if it's just in the front. Are the wheels 29ers? If so, you'll want to look at a slower wind motor like the MAC 10t (I'm not sure if the BMC V4-T is also a 10 turn?). I think you could do it with the battery. I can comfortably get a 20...

    Noisy Cute q100

    I'll have to get a volt meter, it sounds easy enough. It's a q100 36v 201 rpm in a 26" rim. I have it running on 12s.

    Noisy Cute q100

It didn't make much of a difference unplugging the halls. I was hoping it had something to do with the controller running sensorless but it's hard to tell. Also, it seems to be getting more of a metallic sound and I probably haven't drove it even 5 miles. I tried to open the motor the other...

    Noisy Cute q100

Is there a good way to check if it's running sensorless, or what would cause that? It was kind of a strange kit. The 6 prong connector that goes to the motor wasn't assembled I had to put the prongs in the houseing. I hooked up and color matched all the wires. I see in their diagram it has phase...

    Noisy Cute q100

I just put a cute q100 201rpm rear hub kit on my girlfriend's bike. I am running it at 12s lipo 44.4v and it has a bad resonance noise that I hear at 5-7 mph. I can feel it vibrate the bike as well. Sometimes I'll even hear a metal chatter somewhere in back(I'm not sure if it's the motor, it...

    Least expensive reasonable ebike

One of the problems I had with the Currie is it's so noisy it really bugges me. Also when I'm riding with or by others and I feel like I'm ruining the ambiance. I first bought the skyline but then got a mac kit from cell man. The Mac is so much better it makes the skyline/Currie drive feel...

    Final shopping list. With pictures.

I think it looks alright I don't see why you'll need these: If you already have the cellog. e. 6x Battery Monitor 2-6S You can just check them with the cellog one pack at a time every once in awhile. It's pretty easy and I do it with my 10 6s packs on ocassion. You can plug the cellog into...

    Lipo help please! Argh!

Why not just put the ICharger on "Charge" or "Fast charge" mode and charge them? You don't need to connect your balancing wires to do so. You might want to set the iCharger Lipo to 4.1v so that one cell doesn't go over 4.2. I believe you said "my battery medic had no trouble connecting and...

Q128 201rpm Motor Not Enough Power.

Here's the one I ordered laced into a 26" rim: http://www.bmsbattery.com/ebike-kits/426-250w350w-q-85100sx-motor-e-bike-kit.html I ordered it for my girlfiend who is 120 lbs. She has been using my Mac kit but doesn't use it past the lowest speed setting = 18 mph. Hopefully the q100 will be...

Thinking of getting an e-bike and need help

I kind of like the specialized crosstrail but the 700c wheels are a no go for me(my motor is laced in a 26' rim). I don't think it'd be too weak of a frame as long as you use a torque arm(Someone correct me if I'm wrong). I would think you'd want a Mac 10t (torque kit) from emissions free if...

Q128 201rpm Motor Not Enough Power.

36v, no doubt about it especially for that little of a price difference. You're talking about moderate hills, being better then a skateboard etc. You'll want the extra power and it should make a good bit of difference. I'm going with a 44.4v battery for the q100 I ordered.

Cute Q100 at 12s lipo questions

Actually that sounds pretty good then. I'm guessing it should climb hills fairly well if it's just 20mph at 44v with the 36v q100 201. I placed the order.

Cute Q100 at 12s lipo questions

Yeah, I've read your topic. I was actually thinking about ordering the 2 mini motors instead of the mac kit. After some thought I ordered the MAC to see as I see it "the e-bike standard". I am very impressed with the MAC kit(from Cell Man) but when my girlfriend rides it she always uses the...

Cute Q100 at 12s lipo questions

I was looking at getting a Q100 kit for my girlfriend at BMS battery. I am running my Mac kit off 12s lipo so I was thinking of doing the same for her bike. I was thinking about getting the 36v "201" version. Will it be ok at 44V on a 26" rim? Can I run the stock controller with 12s Lipo? Does...

    Build or Buy?

I'm voting for RC Lipo for a battery. The thing about it is it's flexable. Increasing voltage, adding capacity, removing some for a short commute, adding some for a camping trip etc. You sound like a smart person so I'm sure you can figure it out. If you do, look at hobby king either the 4, 5...

how would i charge my lifepo4 using solar?

Kind of expensive at ~$2500. I've also been thinking about this for camping trips or something..
