BBS motor for slow cargo trike

Thank you both. Philip, that is very interesting! Good call on the frame modification. I was thinking of having the motor protrusion pointing down, but I guess floor clearance would be too small. Can you please share what chain wheel battery and voltage you are using and what is your speed and...

BBS motor for slow cargo trike

Hello, I have a cargo trike that I use to take my kids around (http://christianiabikes.com/). I live in a somewhat hilly area and would like some assistance at times. Bike+Kids+me+some cargo weights some 375-400 lb or 170 kg. I do not want or need to go fast (15mph/25kph tops), with some 5%...

Lipo batteries dead -recover or discard?

Thank you. I charged them yesterday to storage value at 0.5 amps. So far so good. No puffy cells, nothing strange and Thye have kept the charge overnight. Now topping them up to 4.1v, at the same speed. I always store lipos in a lipo bag, in use or not, and charge them inside the bag with the...

Lipo batteries dead -recover or discard?

Ok, i screwed up and left the batteries connected to the wattmeter and controller for two days. The battery (lipo 10s) is fully discharged (shows 9.7 volts of 37v nominal). My idea is to attempt to charge it carefully (outdoors inside a lipo bag). Is it too dangerous? Thanks, Daniel

Halogen transformers as lipo charger power source

Hi, I have a few transformers in the house from a recent renovation. They are 50W 12v, i.e. a bit over 4 amps. They were for low voltage halogens, and therefore they should be prepared to be used for long periods of time. They are AC, not DC. Is there a reason why I should not use two of those...

SOLVED - Icharger 106B "vout low"

Thanks for the reply. My battery monitor is the monitor function of the charger. Unfortunately, I cannot charge it because the charger refuses to do so. I am going to redo my powerpole crimps (one does not look so well) to see if it could be this. Regards.

SOLVED - Icharger 106B "vout low"

Hi there, I have an icharger 206B that refuses to charge one of my 5S packs ( Turnigy 5000mAh 5S 20C Lipo Pack). When I connect the power and balance leads, it reads "low vout" and if I try to force it to charge it says " BATTERY CHECK, LOW VOLTAGE". The battery monitor says all cells are...

    Switch between batteries

You could use a boat battery selector. Cheap and Made to handle 100s of amps. A bit bulky, though. For example this one http://www.amazon.com/Perko-8501DP-Marine-Battery-Selector/dp/B00144B6AE
