Bill looks to allow electric skateboards on the road

That bill is kind of restrictive, board has to be less than 1000w total output and must go less than 20mph, my board is out. At least it is a step in the right direction.

Enertionboards.com | Eboard Hand Controller Design Challange

I really like that idea. Unfortunately, I damaged a LiPo this weekend and it was a nasty experience. With that said, I would never ever want a LiPo or LiFe strapped to me during a crash.

ALIEN DRIVE SYSTEMS--New Keegal Hub drive opinions???

I also love them, I think they are the easiest wheels to work with. What are you using to retain the sprocket? Looks like nothing, just a press fit part? PS they just put out some purple ones which look super saucy.

Rear dual NTM motor set up issue...

Try changing your stance on the board ie flip board around or stand on other side. One motor is probably doing more work because of the load. Also you can check the tension of the belts. Could be a bad solder, bad batteries, or countless other things. If you have a multi-meter you can test all...

Enertionboards.com | Eboard Hand Controller Design Challange

You could use the one way bearings that others have used and you could implement a disc brake, which I've also seen on these forums. Then could put a thumb button on the controller which would switch it into braking mode that would be controlled by the same throttle mech (squeeze for brake). The...

Enertionboards.com | Eboard Hand Controller Design Challange

I'm going to make something like this for my hand controller. It's basically a squeeze grip throttle and when you release the grip, full brake is applied (dead man switch). The LCD would display the voltage/amps/distance/ avg speed/ mpg stuff. I wouldn't put much brains into the controller it...

    Wireless Wii Nunchuck *TESTERS WANTED

If you're worried about size then you could use an atmega328 TQFP, they are smaller than an attiny85 DIP.

Finished the upgrades on my trucks. Went with Khiro bushings and kingpin. Stainless steel for the mounting screws. Now just need to mount it all up and install electronics.

It's cool if you use the design. It seems that boosted boards is using a very similar design on their wheels and they even use orangatang wheels.

    3D printed parts

The surface of the material was a little slippery or oily and the edges of the printed parts tend to be rounded. PLA seems to be a little less petrol. I would recommend experimenting though.

    3D printed parts

My first test sprocket was printed with ABS. It was a little slippery so the belt skipped. I think PLA may work a little better but I haven't tried it yet.

I decided to use the same truck mount design for my new chain drive. While I wait for the welder to finish the other mount I went ahead and painted the ones I have. Stripped and sanded Green paint and primer Fluorescent Orange Painted

    Chain gears?

    Chain gears?

I use sdp-si.com for my chain drive. I'm currently using the #25 size ones. This is a link to the sprocket section https://sdp-si.com/eStore/CoverPg/Drive_Components.htm you'll want to get a hub sprocket for the motor. Use the metric if you want to find an 8mm bore size. Also the Metric and...

So far I'm very pleased with them. Just one note, I'm using caliber trucks and the bore hole is a tad to small. I'm going to round out the square edges on the trucks with a file and they will fit nicely. The wheels are perfect on every other truck that I've tried them on, 3 to be exact.

Ha, yeah. That is the old mount. I'm going to make new ones for this second build. The mount held up well though, plenty sturdy and functional. CNC is nice but like you said it's not really practical. The belt was slipping and I think it was a combination of me being a big dude and the motor...

    Drevious' E-Longboard

So I'm moving on to version two of my longboard and I decided to go with these wheels by orangatang. The holes are almost a perfect 1/4" diameter. I just had to ream them a little to get the spacers to fit snugly inside. I've also decided to go with a two wheel chain drive system. Wheel...

    Drevious' E-Longboard

Thanks for the reply torque. I'm not having any problems with slippage on the wheel or shaft so I'm not sure how fixing the bolts on the wheels would help. I have already filed a flat spot in the shaft of the motor for one of the set screws. It worked so well that I cannot remove the set screw...

    Drevious' E-Longboard

So I got my new belts and straightened the motor out a little. I put everything back together and tested it out and it worked pretty good. It struggled with my fatness a little but it got going and ran fairly well. I tried to go from a cold stop and go uphill and it pushed for a bit then stopped...
