Gustavo chainring for Bafang mid drives

1100 miles and had a problem with the chain dropping off in bottom gear. This never happened with the Lekkies and it looks like the Gustavo teeth are slightly shorter. I have installed a chain guide and the problem is sorted.

Gustavo chainring for Bafang mid drives

I fitted one 2 weeks ago. 240 miles so far and still good as new😁. It's a 42T and hopefully will do better than the Electron Cycles cheap one I had last year that lasted less than 1000 miles before 3 teeth fell off! It's on a BBSHD 28A.

Help please, my bbs02 750 is stuck in my frame

I had the same problem with a BBSHD in a Marin steel frame. Tried WD40 then heat and it didnt budge so I used a 14lb sledgehammer and it came out in less than a minute. Then I bought a new motor :D . The frame is fine and now has a BBS02 fitted with a well greased BB and hopefully wont need to...

Where to buy Bafang in Europe?

Just boght a BBSHD from Amazon seller Accomile. £649 and came in 3 days(tonight) to the UK. Will be used to replace my BBS02 which melted the nylon gear last week on my MTB. New nylon gear will be here shortly then I will put it on my hybrid which currently has a BBSHD with a busted controller...

    Triangle Bag recommendations?

I use the EM3EV triangle bag for 14S 20Ah Hobbyking lipo. 6 years of hard offroad use and still good as new . https://em3ev.com/shop/em3ev-triangle-battery-bag/?doing_wp_cron=1620679669.4312300682067871093750

    BBSHD Controller not programmable

Maybe you should just buy an https://eggbikes.com/eggrider . Works perfectly on my BBSHD and both of my BBS02s=B's too. You can set it so you have both an off road and a legal setting and it can be locked to legal so the law cant change it.

Where to buy cheap Li-pol batteries instead of Multistar?

Just bought some 4S 8Ah Multistars in the UK reduced from £61 to £30. I think its the last of the green stock as they are now blue. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-high-capacity-16000mah-4s-12c-multi-rotor-lipo-pack-w-xt90.html?___store=en_us VERSUS...

Why 750w costs less than 1000w BBSHD?

    52V x 30A =1560 Watts.....

    6s charger

I use a pair of Meanwell NES 350-48 power supplies in parallel to charge 14S Mutistars at 700W. You could use 3 to get 1050W.

    Combining 3 LiPo batteries?

A pair of these is all you need to connect them in series. You would need to seperate them if you need to balance charge but I have only had to balance mine twice in the last year and both times when I had to run slightly below 3.6V to get home...

    Combining 3 LiPo batteries?

I have used Multistars for over 3 years and as long as you charge to 4.1v that leaves a bit of headroom in case of imbalance and also gives you a much longer lifespan (still on my original batteries). Dont discharge below 3.6V and they will rarely go out of balance. I always check for balance...

Anyone have this problem with the BBSHD

Mine clicks and shakes the chain when pushing backwards. I stripped the final drive and it was well lubed so I put fresh in and closed it back up. I guess its just normal so as long as it doesnt get any worse I am happy with it. 2400 miles on it so far.

BBSHD upgrade from 48V to 52V

Change the battery setting to UBE and it will autodetect the correct voltage. I use my BBSHD with both 48 and 52V batteries but I use a CAV2.4 to keep an eye on the voltage.

Limiting power down to legal levels

No,you have to unplug the LCD then plug the box in. My plan if I get stopped is to turn the motor off then tell them I have to plug the precharge box in before I can start the motor. Can't see anyone who would know what i was really doing.

Limiting power down to legal levels

I have a switcheroonie(got it free to test) and it takes a couple of minutes at most to change settings. You have to unplug the LCD then plug the box in its place. Turn it on and read the current setting then choose the setting you need and press a button. A few seconds later unplug the box and...

UPGRADING TO NEW BAFANG 1000W MOTOR

If you mean the Bafang Max Ultra then only a Bafang specific frame will do. You can buy a motor mount and fit it to a frame though. http://www.szbaf.com/en/components/component/accessoires/fixation-parts-a.html

BBS02 creaking sound when i am pedaling hard

I have had creaking from mine 3 times in 2500 miles. First time was actually the Suntour suspension post needing oiling! Second time was the BB nut needed retightening. Third time was one of the pedal crank bolts had worked slightly loose.

    Can I use the BBS02 with a 38T chainring?

Stock chainring is 44T and with an 11T rear gear you should get 30Mph... I would be careful not to overheat it with a 52V battery, best bet is to fit a temperature gauge,https://electricbike-blog.com/2015/06/07/installing-a-temperature-sensor-in-the-bbs02-unit/ A better bet would be to get a 42T...

Having issues charging one of my new Lipos

My BBSHD and BBS02 both have an LVC of 42V but as I use both 12S and 14S on a ride (seperately) I dont ever get that low and use a CA to monitor the voltage and always aim for home well before running out of battery. Of course carrying 64Ah helps as I can ride 120 miles or more before dropping...

Having issues charging one of my new Lipos

You should stop discharging Multistars when the cells get down to 3.6V to keep them balanced. Its possible to take them to 3.5V if you are desperate but it will definately unbalance the cells. You need a wattmeter or at the very least a set of cell alarms to avoid damaging any more cells. I...
