landyachtz invader, VESC, single HUB, 8s

I originally used the VESC and lever's single HUB motor on a loaded dervish.. worked well and looked great but it was a too big and too similar to my boosted board. I wanted something shorter, more maneuverable, with a kicktail to bring places. I used a flat lunchbox as the enclosure (saw...

10S custom skate ESC: testers wanted!

Thanks, the new KI setting solved the cruise control issue

10S custom skate ESC: testers wanted!

FOC v2.4 with single hub motor, 8s. working well except cruise control is a bit strange with FOC. It doesn't seem to maintain the speed - it slows down, then suddenly speeds up...

will test it out - seems to occur after substained braking...

Changing it 15KHz solved the temperature overload problem. still really quiet.

10S custom skate ESC: testers wanted!

Yes, Thank you - I finally got it updated. Using jaccobloy OSX version - looks like the usb port changed to: /dev/tty.usbmodem310 from /dev/tty.usbmodem261 I am using it with carvon hub motor. It is definitely more quiet - pretty amazing, actually... i think my parameters may not be ideal...

I'm getting a buffer erase timeout trying to update the firmware on Chaka's vesc - any tips?

Thanks man! Will give a shot.. did you figure this out: "Stupid question maybe: do we have to put commutation mode back to "integrate" after detection and before "write config" in the BLDC tab? Or should it stay in "delay" mode?" Also, do you notice any loss of power in FOC modE?

Hi elkick, have you figured out parameters for the carvon hub motors?

Stary Wanna-Be Using Pediglides Single Hub Motor

i also run a single hub setup. I've had it at 7s lithium ion with 30A limit on the VESC - that's less than 900w and it was enough to accelerate from dead stop. Currently I'm running 8s/60A lipo and it is much stronger (>1800w) and easily accelerates from dead stop. only problem I notice with...

Single HUB motor, VESC Loaded Dervish Build

I only weigh 145 - it starts slowing down to about 10-12mph on the hills and you can really hear it struggling.. but again, it's a limitation of the battery pack - I'm pretty sure that battery pack isn't made to put out more than 30A peak... so that is what I have it limited on the VESC... I...

    E-GO by Yuneec Internationl

I have extra set of motor/wheels/trucks from my E-GO if you are interested in replacing... (my controller died and I've since moved on to a different board)

Single HUB motor, VESC Loaded Dervish Build

yea, i'm suprised it's able to drive the hub motor... I'm using the VESC to limit the max current as I don't think the cells in there can handle more than 30amp peak. So I'm basically limiting it to 29v*30a = 900w peak... the acceleration on incline sorta sucks because of it... I think I...

Single HUB motor, VESC Loaded Dervish Build

I bought another nyko nunchuck - the 2nd receiver worked much better. no dropouts.... I would wait a bit - in december, enertion will be selling the transmitter/receiver that vedder/jaccoby made to replace the nyko nunchuck - it's supposed to be much more robust and reilable.

Single HUB motor, VESC Loaded Dervish Build

I replaced the nunchuck dongle with another nyko nunchuck dongle and it works well now... looks like some of these nunchuck receivers are crappy

10S custom skate ESC: testers wanted!

I noticed the "mellow drive" board has an "endless ride" where you kick once and the cruise control automatically turns on to keep that low speed cruising. Is it currently possible to do something like this on the VESC
  18. T

So I bought a lathe...and made Hub Motors

I have to say, I really enjoy the ride on these hub motor. The coasting is really awesome- there's very little resistance (relatively, compared to my belt driven board). I love being able to squeeze the trigger for some juice and then just coasting and carving. I don't even mind having to...

Single HUB motor, VESC Loaded Dervish Build

haven't had a chance to check range or max speed yet... this nunchuck sucks ass... I've ordered the GT2B, another nunchuck, and the benchwheel remote for testing...

Single HUB motor, VESC Loaded Dervish Build

Nice specs! Any sort of enclosure for it - i think a pack with an enclosure would be of value to many people and probably easily offset the cost of producing the enclosure. would love to test.

    E-GO by Yuneec Internationl

8s isn't worth it... you loose a really nice battery enclosure, easy charging, a clean looking deck for a bit more torque and top speed...

Single HUB motor, VESC Loaded Dervish Build

I'm not really sure -some people seem to have no issues with the nyko kama and VESC but I've read others with problems even when wired directly to the VESC. It's pretty annoying - random signal dropouts.. I purchased another brand to test - it might also just be a crappy controller or...

Single HUB motor, VESC Loaded Dervish Build

I was worried as well, but the clearance is fine - I've loosened up the trucks and really try to get it to touch the hub but could not.

Single HUB motor, VESC Loaded Dervish Build

I've been riding a hacked E-GO board for few months on 10s lipo before the ESC died. Decided to reuse the original Yuneec battery on a new build using LEver's hub motor and Chaka's VESC. Deck: Loaded Dervish Battery: EGO 7s/3p? (29.4v, 7.8AH) panasonic cells, ?30A. case is pretty cool, the...

    Powered longboard

curious why you didn't like the boosted board? I love building my own but don't have the skills necessary to have a nice/clean enclosure and look of the boosted board. I'm probably going to end up with both a DIY board and a boosted board for simplicity sake (and for sharing with friends) -...
