    Royally screwed up.

    I destroyed a Kelly with a incorrectly soldered xt90 once, it didn't destroy the connector like that though. Whatever BMS is inside that pack it's not that good at detecting a short circuit event I would have no hope that the controller still works but might as well connect it right way around...

    I've never heard of a 18650 explode during normal use. It can happen when there is no BMS and one or more cells are unbalanced and get charged to over 4.2v, in that case most cells would probably explode. Every cheap powertool from stores like Lidl & Aldi and whatever all use garbage Chinese...

    Indeed, that is why I recommended buying 2 Chinese made packs and once the cells die after a year or two you can replace them with high quality ones.

    I could weld you those packs with Samsung 25R cells. Material cost ist already €110 and then add work, shipping and import duty and you're looking at probably over €200 for 2x 5ah batteries

    The issue is that even if I weld a pack, the battery still has to go through customs and be taxed again. And for some reason Nkon does not list Montenegro, maybe they have some high tax on batteries or it needs to be shipped as hazardous goods.

    For about a 10€ difference you'd be stupid not to buy those and just run them till they die. You can always replace the cells afterwards.

    The greenworks battery case you linked needs 12 cells. 2 parallel rows of 6 cells. If you use the Samsung 25R cells you will get 5Ah, if you choose the red Sanyo cells you will just barely get 4Ah. Another option is to just buy 24v batteries with cells in them...

    If you have to reconnect the battery in order to get power from them it's the BMS 100% You may need a third battery or even fourth. I personally don't really like grouping a bunch of batteries together, ideally you'd have one capable battery.

    Is the battery spec high enough to even keep up with the load? Sounds like the BMS shutting off from high current or maybe voltage sag.

    The lack of pre charge can also kill these circuit breakers. Lack of pre charge causes charred contacts, charred contacts cause heat, heat causes it to trip, flipping it on to continue riding causes more charring.

    The EVE INR21700-40PL cell has a 70A discharge rating. RC lipos could also be used (with extreme caution). There are also some hybrid car cells that have a very high discharge rating.

    Is the ignition turned on? like I said, you can identify the plug orientation by the wire colors.

    It shouldn't fit the wrong way. Look at the wires, red to red, black to black etc. You have it paired I assume? I've had issues like these before it might be a bad dongle or even the controller. I have dongles that only connect after trying for 20 times, but on my other controller the same...

    The switch turns the output on or off, it has no bearing on charging as the charge port is wired to the BMS charge input.
