Nice job Beagle, that is a one of a kind bike for sure. Sorry to hear about your battery problems, but i am sure you will solve them very soon with excellent results.
Beagle, you dont need to paint it!!!!!!!!!!! Aluminum oxidises very quickly, which means it naturally provides its own protective paint. If you wanted it to remain shiny, which you don't, then you could apply a epoxy clear coat.
Your bike should be called the killa squirely cycle
Could be your reverse install of the new tire, with the sounds of satanic messages driving the wildlife crazy
OMG, That thing took off like a rocket, Thank god he is ok, and also that those lithium batteries didnt get damged, can you imagine those suckers going off.
Got Sprocket Today
I got this 80T sprocket for #35 chain in the mail today. It's clearly made to be put on a tank. It weighs almost 3lbs! (2lbs 14oz.) I'll be damned if I going to go to all this trouble to make a light bike, then have to put a 3lb sprocket on it. I'm going to drill a million...
DAG NAM IT, The day after reading this post, I got a flat on my road bike, at 1 in the morning on the way home, i hit a badly designed, sidewalk. about an inch or so up, and smashed the rim and tire. Had to walk @$#*&^ two miles!!!!!!!!!

Very Happy
Hi Newbie
Yes most of my favourite bands are American! we have some great acts over here but the Americans have some amazing music going on! However Arcade Fire are Canadian I believe! still a great tune!! no cars go!!
I really want a velomobile! however I...
Hey Beagle,
Your plastic battery packs sound great. I am just wondering why you are going to use aluminum. Wouldn't copper strips be a better choice. I am wondering over time, that the aluminum might oxidize, and not make a good contact, which may get those batteries out of balance.
Re; reading those last 2 posts
It reminds me of a autobiography I read about Warren Buffet. He still has a paper route. Of course he doesn't need the money, being one of the richest man in the world. It is while delivering his papers, that he achieves some sort of deep thought. Must be some...
Curiously, I have had my flats, with maximum psi, usually after I pumped up the tire. I should point out though that I use to always pump up the tires to maxium psi to decrease rolling resistance. Now I run the ebike at lower psi for a softer ride. I have not had a flat for a while...
gf was commenting on expanding midriff. As were my so called friends in front of gf. This could be some sort of conspiracy propelled by big oil to dispose of ebike.
I have the 406, front wheel. With the batteries in the back. If i were to do it over again i would go with a rear wheel, and the batteries in a frame bag. I went with the front wheel, because of the weight distribution but I think an xster set up isolves the distribution problem., If the front...
You guys are too funny. GF is always full of surprises, My attitude is if the women in my life are not happy, then I am not happy. I keep a copious amount of Bordeaux wine on hand, to dull my logical ways, after a couple of glasses, nothing really matters.
O.K. just got back from radio shack...
Hey Beagle,
Aluminum oxides over time and gives a dull silvery finish, look at sailboat masts. If you want it to remain shiny, I am pretty sure, that you could spray a clear coat epoxy on it. Epoxy is a very durable finish.
Hi Fetcher, was just reading your excellent sticky on clyte controllers.
Yeah one of the capaciters is blown, and there is coffee coloured stuff all over the board, that came out of the blown capacitor. everything else looks ok, ie, nothing burnt or showing signs of heat. It looks as though the...
I took off the controller, appears to be moisture inside. One of the ( ok excuse me I have very limited knowledge on electronics ) capacitors is oozing a coffee colored substance. The description is sl 36 m RA 105 c
The7, yes I have the newer one with the bigger caps, the third one is the one...
The gods are shining on me, I was denied, then her car wouldnt start, the battery terminals were loose, so I fixed it. Now I have sucessfully guilted her into helping me.
It seems one of the connectors experienced some heat, the middle one that connects to the motor. There are three, blue , yellow, and green. The green one looks a little bit damaged from heat. I wont know anything till i get a volt meter. G.F. just came over, and i am trying to get a ride from...
