    Intermittent power on TSDZ2

waynemarlow, can you give me some links to these posts? I made some searches before the original post and after your reply as I'm still unsure of the parameters of the issue and would love to understand it better. I'm not even sure I could find a position on the chain stay and spokes where the...

    Intermittent power on TSDZ2

That's odd data. My magnet has shifted a bunch of times, and the only result, prior to this, was that when gets over about 10mm or so the speed readout just stays at zero. I return it to about it 5mm and it reads accurately (more or less) again. This time it had rotated so it was perpendicular...

    Intermittent power on TSDZ2

I keep my bikes at my daughter's home where I used to live, as my third floor walk up apt has nom place to store them. I charge my car there as well, so the bike is my way top shuttle back and for5th to pick up and drop off my car, meaning I often am not near the bike when I am posting here. I...

    Intermittent power on TSDZ2

Well, intermittent does not mean random, it means "stopping or ceasing for a time; alternately ceasing and beginning again" so this time I did not misspeak, but your suggested title is much better, thanks. The etiology of the problem is that I turned it upside down to change a tire, then when...

    Intermittent power on TSDZ2

I haven't checked all the low-voltage connectors. I suspect the speed sensor may work by generating a voltage rather than modifying resistance. If so, its connector pin may only conduct when that voltage gets high enough to push through the whatever is compromising the connection, and that may...

    Intermittent power on TSDZ2

Indeed I misspoke. It acts more like an intermittent open. But I would expect a poor connection to come and go either by something flexing, or by changes in voltage or current that might allow it to arc across the gap. That it always conducts as soon as it reaches 12 mph, across the full range...

    Intermittent power on TSDZ2

I think the fact that it works normally across various loads at speed suggests it’s not an intermittent short. Seems more like an electronic issue. I also notice a snap of an arc, like a capacitor discharge, for an instant when I connect the battery hot. Maybe it’s actually changing a coil or...

    Intermittent power on TSDZ2

I have a 48V TSDZ2 with an 850C display and a Hailong Shark style battery with a throttle running stock firmware from Eco Cycles. When testing on the stand my motor gives a small burst, then drops to near zero. I don’t feel any power when starting off, but once I reach 12-15 mph it starts...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Congratulations! That is super cool. I assume if not using brake sensors there would need to be no cable on the keypad.

I understand the issue, but please, this is a noble community project in on-going development, so the irksome tone of your post is uncalled for and likely counter productive. I think this fault is well know, casainho linked to a fix for an issue with the lights that might help...

    Hybrid hydraulic drives

Oyo is pitching a hydraulic drive ebikehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9J8_8Rkfgmc. Purdue won a hydraulic power contest with a pure human drivehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1_l87GACt8. Hydraulic drives are not very efficient, but in a hybrid system, the losses become much less consequential...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I'm pretty new to ebikes, but I always stop pedaling before I brake, and that as soon as I stop, the power cuts. Maybe it's because I've ridden so much for so many decades, but I don't get why one would both pedal and brake.

When I've run Bootcamp and Parallels on my Mac in the past to emulate windows, I had to buy a copy of windows. Now, Microsoft allows one to download a Win 10 iso from their MS website and run it on Mac without activation. I've been using Bootcamp on my Macbook running all the Win apps needed to...

Are you referring only to the lights issue, or do you think this improved the boost lag issue as casainho suggested it might?

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I don't understand most of this, but am wondering if this is related to the later discussion on noise amplification. I reflashed the stock firmware and my daughter, who also rides my bike, commented on how the delay had disappeared. Unlike me, she's not very interested in the other data the...

I've too have been trying many different configurations, and still have this same problem of it taking a few rotations at a very high pedal torque before I get any assist. Not much a problem anywhere accept shifting on a hill. I have not tried turning off pedal calibration. I'll give that a...

I'd assumed the calibration is about loading the torque setting table we prepared with our initial calibration. The controller then needs to know whether to use the right table or left table, and so needs to know the start position so that it can keep track of which side the torque is coming...

I have a hard time seeing the flashing line under the selected menu items in configuration mode, and was wondering about using some of my design skills to work on the graphics of the OSF UI. I have some web design experience, but because I have a really hard time debugging code (I can't) I try...

The bike I have built is a family bike ridden by other, less ebike savvy, folks in my household. As I try to tweak and improve the configuration of my OSF, I'd like to be able to review the behavior of the system. Is there any protocol we could use to add an arduino nano with a datalogging...

I'm not sure the protocol here, although the wiki undoubtedly saves a revision history, but I just want to memorialize that I made, and will probably continue to make, changes to the wiki. I edited the features and configuration page to help make the throttle setting easier to find after I read...

The wiki is excellent! Thank you for all the work on this. I'm loving this firmware upgrade. The one thing I had a bit of trouble with in the wiki was finding where the Throttle enable setting was. I kept reading past the Motor temperature heading in the configuration section because I knew I...

    Old Electra Townie TDSZ2

My full time job is taking care of my toddler granddaughter. When she was little, I used a Bobike front seat, which she absolutely loved, but she aged out of it and I had to convert to a rear seat. But I quickly realized it was very hard to get on an off without throwing my leg over the back...

I have been reading and searching for information on the Tong Sheng TSDZ mid drive kits. I am a bit surprised that there are so few separate general threads, with most of the info buried in individual build topics and a single, 4-year-old 300+ page subthread started when the system was...
