    Advice for my moped battery

I have a tomos moped. The magneeto (alternator) is very "dirty" produces AC which is rectified to DC and its output fluctuates with RPM so its never actually 12 volt (or 14.4 really). The magneeto couldn't handle the 45 watt headlight (and run the engine and anything else) so I disconnected...

OFF TOPIC quick and dirty hall throttle replacement???

I'm still working on getting my electric reel mower working... after trying direct drive, then chain, I've finally decided on using a 24v 100 watt motor off a razor e100 scooter with a htd 3mm timing belt for the drive system... It still spins way too fast but the rpms are better at 40 % or...

Off topic - modify yk42-3 for 12 or 24 volt use???

I have a project that I'd like to use a 12 volt controller for... (Electric Reel Lawn Mower) Seems like none of the 12 volt controllers I have seen are decent. They are all kits or have too low of current value. Is there a way to modify a yk42-3 or yk42-2 or another controller to work with...

Using 0-5k throttle as hall effect?

Is there a way, by adding a resistor or something, to use a 0-5k ohm throttle on a controller that uses a hall effect throttle? Last night on my way home my cheap thumb throttle went out and I had to "jump" my controller so it was "100%" so I could get home. I have several of these 0-5k...

    Newbie questions... BLDC.

Trying to wrap my head around BLDC motors... I'm used to brushed type that use a set amount of amps and volts. Can someone explain what my BLDC hub motor (and 350 watt 36 volt 20amp limit controller) is doing when I use it? Is it only using 20 amps or is it using 60? (I hear both things...)...

using a kollmorgen controller on a hub motor???

Is this possible? What are the specs of the kollmorgen controller? I have tried to find out but the only things I could find is that it should be kept at 24 because it blows... Couldn't we put a add-on current limiter and run it at 36v? will it work with a 120 degree hub motor? Thanks
