    BRD RedShift electric motorcycles

I think everyone deserves an update to this major Fiasco. BRD which was later named Alta motors, was brought to buy out discussions with a number of folks. Harley Davidson purchased the IP package from Alta motors and their remaining stock is being liquidated currently through auction...

    Domino Throttle

Would love to see a ball bearing half throttle for Electric motorcycles, similar to this domino or the Hirschman E throttle. I saw a kit for Arlen Ness ball bearings and have found some throttle + Brake control issues on an Alta, want half throttle, much safer than these full throttle kits on...

    48A crystallyte controller no Juicy?

So I decided to remove the board and measure the phases with the board visible, green and blue cane back at ~10k ohms Yellow came back at 7.74 kohms to ground So I decided to mount up some 4110s to the board Then I realized I have 744p 4110 mosfets and the package on the board is 823P...

    48A crystallyte controller no Juicy?

I have had phase wires out of alignment before, I understand what the wheel shudder indicates. I don't even get shudder, I get nothing out of throttle like the phases aren't even connected to the controller or throttle wiring, which is why I figured it was maybe a 4 pin throttle. wire color...

    48A crystallyte controller no Juicy?

Hello! As the title states I have one of those beautiful 12 mosfet controllers from ages ago.. a 48A 36-72V controller I recently repinned the hall sensor on it, though I cannot get it to run with the sensors plugged in or even in sensorless mode. 10 Kohms between all phases and ground except...

this is kinda an odd question

so could I theoretically just upgrade the chain on the bike to handle more power? Is it just that putting that much power on the crank will mess up crankset bearings/ gears?

this is kinda an odd question

Would it be better to belt drive this system or should I stick with a chain ?

this is kinda an odd question

I will be putting in more than 48 lb ft continuous... a lot more I guess I will just put a gear with a freewheel on the disc break mount of the axle. 36:1 will have to do and Im SURE it will give me enough speed and the torque to pull 1000 lbs

this is kinda an odd question

yeah. this is what I was getting at, If I drive the rear ONLY then I dont get the gearing. I could theoretically just hook up a nuvinci CVT on the rear... do you have a picture of this freewheel that you have setup? basically that would be the way I would set it up, I guess I am asking a LOT of...

this is kinda an odd question

really? a left side solid drive? I cant drive the left side of the crank set that has a freewheel on it allowing me to pedal/ not pedal and will still drive the rear wheel? thats what I was going to do... =-/

this is kinda an odd question

any way you have a picture of both sides? I need to figure where I can mount it from

this is kinda an odd question

36 to 1???? wait its 12 *3? oh shit.... so the motor is 800 then the mount and stuff is 4.., then the controller is another 4.., what is the max RPM on that motor? 6-10k so 8k average I need to figure out what the max speed I will be able to achieve is. 48-36-26 is the crank 11-34 is the...

this is kinda an odd question

thats 5kw on 12:1 then a 3:1 on top of that? so a total of 15:1 reduction on a 5 kw motor? that would pull a tank... what voltage was that again 48? I just have to get batteries to match now

this is kinda an odd question

if I had this thing built I would have you join us, I was going to go with a BMC V2 torque but Im not sure that it can handle the power, I know its got some impressive specs but the gears MUST be metal for this app.

this is kinda an odd question

I need dimensions of the unit so I can figure out the fitting of my big dummy. I have a mock up frame from my friend who already has 2

this is kinda an odd question

I need the specs of this thing and he hasnt replied to my emails. Im thinking of going with a 5305 or 5304 now that Im not getting any response. I may even go with a ezee motor and just juice the heck out of it. it already has a 5:1 gear reduction system and would make a 10:1 system which is...

this is kinda an odd question

did and did, and that would probably work its 400 for the machining, 800 for the 5kw motor and 400 for the controller so 1600 alltogether

this is kinda an odd question

that thing has to have oodles of torque... does he have them available and pricing?

this is kinda an odd question

what is this matt dual drive thing? and how do you ride that eskate? this is for me on the weekends with my friends. I know I would have to recharge every trip, I think a 48V 50Ah Li battery would do fine. I think it will turn out to be a pretty sweet ride, I just have to build it. should I...

this is kinda an odd question

anyone know the gear reduction of a stroke monkey? I know I can set it manually ( and I would set it as high as possible) but what I calculated was 273 lb ft of torque. 14T on the motor 44T on the crank side with the motor 32T on the crank side with the derailleur 34T at the cassette...

this is kinda an odd question

Im getting a surly big dummy and hooking up a stroke monkey to that with a 5306 or 5307 motor. I will be watching bulk battery buys... or I will just buy another 48V 20Ah battery and use my other one as well. would rather do it out of a123 cells but that would cost 1500 dollars

this is kinda an odd question

Im gonna do a custom strokemonkey with a 5305 or if I can get a 5307 that would work. the stroke monkey pulled someone up a 31.5% grade in SF with 495 lbs. Im looking at a 10% grade at 1000 lbs with a larger motor and controller.
