BaseRunner motor settings - Autotune vs default?

To resurrect this thread a bit, and 'tune' it (so to speak).... (no, I haven't yet resolved it...) The symptoms I described in my original post are the same. One thing I've found is that this 'rough spot' happens only when pushing the throttle 'gently', while trying to very slowly start...

BaseRunner motor settings - Autotune vs default?

Hi @greggerz, Sorry, I missed your message. Not sure if I figured it out yet! The weather went south so I haven't fine-tuned it, so to speak. I'll post here when it's cleaned up. As far as the 70A setting, it's the limit on the V4 Baserunner (see below, from Grin's site...

BaseRunner motor settings - Autotune vs default?

I'm putting a 'hold' on this question.... I just found that I haven't tuned the Cycle Analyst settings like I thought I had (must have forgotten to press "Save"). There are some changes needed to feedback gain settings when moving from the Grinfinion to the Phase/Baserunner. I'll see if I can...

BaseRunner motor settings - Autotune vs default?

Hi ES people, I've set up my new Baserunner (upgraded from the Grinfineon 35A controller). I have a few questions, and one slight rough spot. My system: Grin All-Axle (Fast wind) on a 20" wheel (recumbent) Baserunner V4 (70A max phase current) 52V 40A 14.5Ah battery Cycle Analyst V3 24Pole...

    Higo to USB-C adapter cable?

Heh! Thanks for that. And now that I look more closely, the USB-C VBUS voltage is 'negotiable' - not necessarily as simple as 5 volts in... Maybe I'll wait for the commercial version.

    Higo to USB-C adapter cable?

I have (on order) the new Grin eBikes.ca V4 Baserunner L10 controller, which provides a 'DC power tap' that connects to the "Mains" connector, for providing power to taillights or etc. The power tap provides V+ (from On/Off) and Gnd. What voltage would that V+ be? If it's a 5V tap, wouldn't...

1 month off-road trip in Chile : which ebike ?

Mine's the latest version of the All Axle. Before I ordered my kit, I saw Justin's mention of the slight compromise with additional drag on the V2 All-Axle, and so thought I'd have to commit to a later upgrade to the PhaseRunner or BaseRunner to take advantage of their 'pseudo-freewheel'...

Breaking in a high powered motor/insulating

Heh! Montana... '78 or '79 - 50 below, dead battery in the old truck. got a friend to tow me to 'jump start' it. Noper! Wheels wouldn't turn! Problem was the gear oil was froze. Cozied up to the fire, and waited til the Chinook came through. 8)

1 month off-road trip in Chile : which ebike ?

Re DD motor drag: You might check out Grin's All Axle motors. I don't have anything other than my wife's RadCity to compare to (which feels like rolling through deep mud with the assist off) but I've been surprised at how little drag (if any) I feel with the 'All Axle'. I will often ride...

Shorten motor cord on Grinfineon controller?

Yeah, I doubt I'd open a BaseRunner without coaching from Grin. If (when?) I upgrade to a BaseRunner, I'll ask them to put a custom cord on it before they ship it out. But I'm having second thoughts about the BaseRunner though, only because I'd need to turn my battery around to get the...

Shorten motor cord on Grinfineon controller?

Yeah, I have a message in to Grin tech to see what they recommend, and if they carry the connector (either crimp or solder). I'm having a hard time imagining it being available in a crimp connector - it looks too crowded for those fittings. It will probably become an over-the-winter job...

Shorten motor cord on Grinfineon controller?

Actually it's a 10 conductor, just a bit different from the nine conductor, like this: From their page illustrating various connectors, here: https://ebikes.ca/learn/connectors.html

Shorten motor cord on Grinfineon controller?

Great. Thanks! I ordered the Fast version of their All-Axle. The front wheel on the Limo is only 20 inches.

Shorten motor cord on Grinfineon controller?

Thanks @ZeroEm, good advice. I didn't really want to deal with a solder sucker, or a wick, actually... I didn't even consider trying to shorten it from the other end, with a new L10 connector, duh. I'll have to see if there's a source for a crimp-on or solder L10. Yes, I'm loving the new...

Shorten motor cord on Grinfineon controller?

Happy! Very happy! Just had to say it! I just finished installing my Grin Ready to Roll kit, on my Linear Limo recumbent! First longish ride yesterday, lots of hills... no worries! (It's going to take me a while to absorb the fact that I don't have to design my route home around the hills - we...

older versions of Cycle-Analyst desktop CASetupUtility software?

Hi folks. I'm new to this world, so please forgive my ignorance... I've searched a bit, and can't find any references to downloads of previous versions of the desktop CA Setup Utility for OS-X (Or any other OS). Are they accessible on the Grin website? I am running OS X 10.11.6. (on my old...
