    It puzzles me that there are electric trolling motors than run in the water constantly with no problems but bicycle hub motors can't. Obviously the level of product quality is not the same.

    Derailleurs that meet the challenge....

    Having been using a Alfine 8 for years, I have been temped to switch back to a rear derailleur for with the mid drive. What do you recommend as a tough as nails unit that would handle the 1000 watt mid drive.

    What about the Nivinci 380 Harmony? It allows you to keep a steady cadence that you choose and shifts for you. Seems perfect for mid drives, although it is as expensive as a Rohloff.
