Mid-Drives with no juice...

Ok....this is a big newb question, but I just have to ask. My question is for the mid-drive bicycles, and that is, riding one that has run out of power. Yes...I know that you can pedal them when the battery is dead, but is it harder to pedal in that situation? I have yet to ride one and I really don't want the "you need to ride one" answer, or the "The bike heavier than a regular bike". I just was wondering if you experience and extra resistance versus a bike with no mid-drive at all.

Sorry for the newb question.

There's a freewheel (one way bearing actually) on the Bafang so you're not actually turning the motor when pedaling without power. There was a bit of resistance when mine was brand new but this quickly loosened up and now it's pretty much normal.
