    ReCycle

..one of my bikes which I build mostly from damaged parts I bought used and repaired. It is not finished yet but i am running it for ~400km now without problems. -Hardtail frame from the late 90s -Grimeca 5 spoke rims, needed new bearings and the rear wheel some side alignment -Bosch active...

Congrats to all Alta Stuff, I had the same goose bumps as we did win our first race! http://www.redbull.com/us/en/motorsports/offroad/stories/1331825319747/straighth-rhythm-race-recap

    KiwiEVs American Chopper build

This Baldor Ratio multipliers are crap. They only have milled gears, not hardened from very mild steel, the shafts are poor quality and they are heavy. The rated torque is very low and trust me, they don't like being abused with more of it. I have destroyed a few of them!

    Racing and efficiency

Dear Marc, sorry that was not meant so offensive as it maybe reads. I am very happy that people like you and your staff are working their ass off for the stuff they love, I love. And you did build one of the best, if not the best electric motocross / supermoto i think! From my experience the...

    Racing and efficiency

Hi Marc, I think you should be so fair and tell why. You are running into the same issue as we, running 30mins at this level is not possible with a "light" bike and the current battery's. Depending on Track and conditions it will be more than twice you need compared to yours and our bikes...

    Racing and efficiency

From the the tests I have made I can tell you that efficiency is much influenced from the gearing and wheelspin. Longer geared and more phase current (same torque on rear wheel as with shorter gear and less phase amps), lets you save batterie - that's what Luke tried to tell you before I think...

    Racing and efficiency

Thanks. Yes and no. It is only possible with coaxial lineup of sprocket and swing arm, the hard part was to make the brake lever feel like real brake with pressure point feeling. At this point there is only one downside, you cannot stall the rear wheel, as the controller wants prevent wheel lock...

    Racing and efficiency

Hello, My name is Sebastian and I am from Germany. We do racing Motocross with our own prototype bikes. We race with gasoline bikes (open) in mx races and in an electric class in enduro races. Through the years of experimenting, developing and testing, I would say I have good knowledge on this...

e-kart pot box for sevcon gen4 controller

Hello Christian, I would suggest to have a look at car spare parts from cars with "E-Gas". Most have linear ~0-5V output and supply of 5/12v.

DC hub based bike dyno, arduino code help needed

You can use processing to exchange data from the arduino to you computer. Than it is pretty simple to make a ui and write data to a file. I exported data in csv file to import in excel.

how to program a sevcon gen4

In motocross we hit the thermal limit within 2 laps (<4mins) with 550A phase at 25*C ambient temperature. That's why we had to liquid cool the motors and use 2 radiators and even fans on our bikes. I have to say it is the old 75-5 we used in this bikes http://www.e-mxm.com/ Greets

Plettenberg Nova motors and MST controllers: 15, 30, 150kW

Is the IGBT HBC HV series that bad? I only can talk about the HBC 50063. It pulled several times 9kw with the colossus at the dyno (WOT from zero). But it went very fast very hot, with watercooling attached, due to high switching frequency. When lowered the switching frequency, the temps went...

My new Colossus Water Cooled motor

I can say that the big watercooled MGM Compro controller work pretty well. 14s 200A no problem, but when you decrease the pwm frequency to get the controller temperature down and go close to the amp limit, the mosfets blow in 3s.. Kelly does the job but the torque is real low, phase amps seams...

    Kuberg Free Rider

The bike were presented at the intermot. From a short look I can tell you that I would keep my fingers from it. The components look very cheep, the fabrication of the frame didn't look production ready. They also presented a trail bike.. I post this because you guys are not to disappointed when...

KTM freeride is going into production 2015

This bike is not made to compete with a mx bike, every 85cc 2 stroke will beat it. It does not have enough travel and the seat position is not made for it. On a motocross track you can't go fast with it, as it is to slow and you cannot do bigger tables. It is good on tracks made for it.. I drove...
