There’s many 2D and 3D axis gimbals which do a great job of image/camera stabilization. Companies such as DJI (Inspire/Phantom manufacturer) bringing out handheld versions too.

The downside with all of these things is that they’re still using basic automatic cameras with fixed lens. For pro results you need something capable of swinging SLR camera.
But for handy home video, powered gimbals can make a tremendous difference.
