Hello there,

I've a quick question. I'm going to potentially buy another bike so I need to know if I calculated the dropout correctly. I'm testing on my actual bike.

I'm not sure to have done the measures correctly, but it seems that I have 160mm dropout on my bike.

Is it normal? Is it the space required for disc brake? Not sure I measured it correctly.

Thanks guys

160mm is out of the ordinary.
Could be that the drop outs are currently spread.
Take the wheel off and measure again.
What type of bike? Brand?
Converted mnt. Bik, or Manu. EBike?
Let's see a pic of the whole bike

This is a mountain bike purchased from Conhismotor:

I'm trying to measure the dropout because I'm soon going to check another bike. I need to make sure the measurement is correct. Going to do it now. Will come back with few pictures.

Wider than normal dropouts are not uncommon on bikes that are manufactured specificly for an ebike. 135mm is the usual width of a MTB rear end.

Rassy, It's a visual effect it looks like 10 mm to the left. On my eyes it looked straight, but anyway I just needed approximative measures. I was just surprised by the width of the dropout.

Dogman, thanks for your feedback. Make me reinsured.

Actually, I was meeting someone to potentially buy the Mezzo bike. I measured the rear dropout and it's 135mm. So the Bafang 36V500W can fit this 16" bike. I tried to ride it but I wasn't that convinced. The fold wasn't that convincing too, and it wasn't rolling that well once folded. Now I'm officially hesitating between the Dahon Jetstream and the Mezzo bike to electrify.
