Hey Folks,
Does anyone have experience pulling the rear shock/spring from a 2004 Giant DH Comp? Ideally without removing the chain ring.

I'm 225-230 with gear and the sag is a little much, I hoping to replace the spring with something stiffer. An ebike buddy commented today that I, "look like a hunched over red bearded orangutan riding that thing". Nice.

I've googled around and either I'm not using the right search terms (likely) or the info isn't available (not likely).

Any advice / directions would be widely appreciated.

Loosen the preload collar all the way (large nut on top of spring). Remove the bolt at the bottom of the shock. Pull the spring up off the lower seat. Pull the rubber bumper up a bit. Then pull the lower seat up and slide it off (has a notch cut out). Then remove spring, replace, and reverse process.
