Do not forget the section including the phrase: "scooter or scooter-like". That covers enough territory of interpretation to slam the book on Matt.

And get some pedals on the bike... pushing with your feet is "scooter-like".

Your honor most other Jurisdictions have a specific exemption to motorcycle and moped definition for a power assisted(electric) bicycle. The Fl house appears to have sloppily written this section.

Although Yours DOES have a seat. So I guess that doesn't apply. Scooters don't have seats.

They can't say bikes without pedals aren't made anymore. Some of teh wooden frams ones I gave pics for are for sale NOW. I beleive I also gave some pics on modem wooden bikes.

For the earliest bikes the roads were useless, mud, rutted by cart-wheel. Other than a park or estate w/groomed paths, the only place they'd work was on the boardwalks. The sidewalks.
But these boardwalks were busy with pedestrians and merchants that would set themselves up in business camping out on the sidewalks (see Chinatowns etc today.)
First harvest (folks carrying bundles of produce,) and the wheeled vehicles were banned from the boardwalks.
Cheaper to ban than to pave <smile>

In other words: Adopt a behavior that is likely to get you involved in one of what we recognize as being the most common traffic crashes that happens to cyclists... Go real slow and try to tell if there's someone in cars you're about to pass to make up for it... And if a door does open, uh, well you're screwed I guess...
