I'm still trying to figure out my next build. I did a search here for bmx. It came up with nothing.

Does any have links? I was thinking of running 48 volts on a rear hub motor for
Some fun bmx on the dirt
Trails around here. We have tons, and many lead me to work (3 miles by dirt, 4.5 by normal bike commute.

Also: what is the least expensive full suspension bike worth electrifying for dirt trails? I
Don't need to get air, but I also like
A smooth ride.

Thanks

I bought a cheap 24" BMX cruiser off Craigslist a couple weeks ago. I'm planning to stick a rear HS motor on it running on 18s LiPo, add a front disc brake, 24" rims with hookworm tires. I think it should be a lot of fun for racing around town, and a reasonable race-bike for a racing noob like me. This information doesn't really answer your questions, but it's something.

Good luck with your project, sounds like it should be great fun.

Maybe you need to use dirt jumper in the search. Lots of the 24" bikes are more in the jumper category than bmx race category.

No such critter as a bmx cruiser. I've seem 24" bmx, I've seen 24" cruiser in ladies frame.

Here's a dirt jumper type. http://www.jamisbikes.com/usa/thebikes/youth/11_x24.html

What they have at wallmart http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mongoose-Intake-24-Boys-Dirt-Jump-Bike/16913466

Can't do much better for cheap on a FS trail bike than the mongoose blackcomb. $250 at wallmart online.

You've seen my trail vids right? all on a cheap blackcomb, but I did put a better front fork on it.

The 24" BMX is often called a BMX cruiser. This is the one I picked up http://bmxmuseum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=122654. They also seem to fit under the name dirt jump- but none of the ones I've seen have got suspension forks or front brakes, unlike many of the bikes you'll find if you search for "dirt jump".

I'm not a BMX expert by any means, just going off what I've read in searching online.

New one for me I guess. Another stupid thing from the marketing dept. I've never seen one single person in my life cruising on a bmx. They always look to me like an organ grinders monkey pedaling furiously on too small a gear trying to actualy go someplace on one. A cruiser doesn't have you pedaling bowlegged to avoid kneeing yourself in the face.

When I search cruiser on most sites, I get a pee wee herman bike, a pedal forward , or at the very least a comfort bike. These types do often come in 24" in a womens step through frame. But they aren't any kind of bmx.

There are a few 24 inch front suspension dirt jumpers, but I haven't seen any that have rear suspension, you might just look for a youth MTB for a FS 24 inch bike.

Torker makes some of the jumpers, Redline too IIRC.
