Hey guys, how've you been?
I'm a mechanical engineer who's been working in electric bicycles for the last 10 years and counting.

I want to share the unique e-bike I've designed and get your honest reviews and feedback. I hold a design registration patent in the USA, Australia, Europe and Brazil for this e-bike frame. Currently, this ebike is available in Sydney, Australia, and Sao Paulo, Brazil, and we're working on exporting it to the USA and Europe. (Please let us know if you'd like to be the first to receive one in those new regions!)

As for the e-bike, we classify it as a full-suspension step-thru MTB (certified to ISO 4210 standards, NO BS!) with a welded rear rack and an optional front basket that could carry lots more load.

We're using a geared rear hub motor 750W nominal, a 48V 25Ah Samsung battery, and a colourful screen with a phone-mirroring function. It's amazing!

I like it, but...

Not sure the US crowd would consider it an MTB despite the full suspension. Well a 90's MTB sure, but not sure it would pass as a modern one. Those guys like torque sensor driven mid drives so they can run the motor power through different gears if needed and control it precisely, for example. This is a rear hub. It's a really underpowered rear hub too since our laws allow 750w motors and it is only 250.

No mention of top speed on the site either. I commute 20 miles, so a bike that can only go 20mph costs me a lot more time than one that can go 30mph. Don't see any mention of range in terms of distance or charging time either which is also important for commuters. Some bikes go for capacity when choosing the cell type, but then can't charge and discharge fast.

Some companies like Fiido make sure to show their bikes with racks with a couple batteries in them to alleviate range anxiety, going so far as to design holding slots for the extras. So not sure it will win over any commuters here either.

I'd add stronger motors, make it dual motor, and dual battery packs, and fast charging. Water cooling too if you really want to stick out. 😎 Make sure to specify throttle type, PAS sensor type, charging time, max speed and range and all the essentials on the site too.

Our ebike uses a big geared hub motor because it requires less maintenance than a mid-drive motor, and we've installed a torque sensor on the bottom bracket, so this ebike feels how much force you're putting through the pedals.

We are using 48V 25Ah Samsung cells, estimated to have a 120 km range at 25km/h. This ebike when unrestricted, can reach 50km/h+
The charging time from 0 to 100% is only 5 hours!

Definitelly heavy duty. It's for super size riders I presume, people over 120kgs, who need the big motor. Could be a winner.

All good, so long as you drop the pretence that it's an EAPC and market it for use on private property only.
 
Would need a dropper post if you seriously want to keep calling it a MTB, I think. And a way to remove the rear rack. Like Rivian's ALSO TM-B has swappable modules.

I don't think anyone cares about ISO anything here except maybe if their apartment forces them to get a UL listed battery to be allowed to charge indoors, unfortunately.

Ya, it wouldn’t do mountain biking in mountain biking country due to the geared hub that can’t shed heat.
I don’t think it could climb this hill and it’s less than a 25% grade. It looks like a nice commuter though.
