I just bought an used e-bike with a 24V Bafang 180 W front wheel motor. I guess it's possible to run it at 36 V (or 8S). Should I by a new controller or can I modify it by changing the low V capasitors? I guess it has a 25 km/h limit also, which I would like to remove.

The motor looks and sounds good. Will clean it and ad new grease.

What controller is this? If you recommend a new controller, please recommend a specific brand/version.

Usually it's the high v caps to change. The big ones are 50v? If so it should run on 36v but not 48.

Speed limiter. Is there a jumper wire outside the controller plugged together? If so unplug it, that should be it.

No idea what make controller. If it blows up get anotherone. Never know some work with higher voltage with no changes and some are voltage restricted so going from 24 to 36 will not work.
Problem with any controller upgrade is connectors, unless it's the same make from the same supplier. And even then it's dtill a crap shoot on the connectors.
