Hey guys,
We’re a small startup – Tritium Motors – born out of the simple urge to do something cool in the powersports space. For the last couple of years, we’ve been deep in motor design, going through the usual mix of excitement, a few painful failures, and plenty of long nights. Out of that grind, we’re finally ready to share what we think is our star product: the 160-R.

A quick snapshot:

  • We’ve already validated the platform and pushed our air-cooled prototype up to 40 kW.
  • Full datasheet is here → [link] (would love your feedback).
  • If anyone wants to dig deeper, I can share the complete test data personally.

What makes it a bit special is the state-of-the-art winding tech (patent pending) we’ve developed. It lets us hit an 87% fill factor, which really helps squeeze performance into a compact package.

As most of you know, building these kinds of motors in ultra-small prototype batches is a huge challenge. That’s where I could really use the community’s support. If there are a few buyers interested, maybe we can club together 4–6 units for the first batch run. Coming from manufacturing background and already doing some good business in lot of industrial and niche application or specific type of custom build motors I can guarantee the production and quality deliverables. That way, we can get them out into real projects, on real dirt tracks, boats, or buggies.

The 160-R runs high current at low voltage, which gives that spike in torque that’s perfect for dirt bikes to use your c rating and capacitor discharge in controller. With a water-cooled setup, it could just as easily power speedboats or off-road buggies.

I’m damn sure the Endless-Sphere crowd will appreciate the tech behind this motor. Would love your thoughts, feedback, and maybe some first adopters who want to push it to its limits.

Cheers,
Anand

Moved to items-for-sale-new as advertisement/sale threads don't belong in the discussion forums.

if you're not seling them and instead giving away prototypes for testing, I'd recommend explicitly stating that.

Otherwise, you should state the costs involved and the expectations you have for users to be doing this prototyping and testing.

More details are always better, as dragging information out question by question is less likely to garner participants. ;)

We’ve been working quietly on a new motor platform at Tritium Motors and are finally ready to share it with the community. The 160R is a high-efficiency radial flux BLDC motor designed for a wide voltage range (48–96V), with peak figures of 135 Nm torque and 80 kW power at up to 8000 RPM.

It’s available in both air and water-cooled versions, depending on the application. With a power density above 2 kW/kg and a controller-agnostic design, it’s meant to be flexible for different builds — from compact projects to high-power setups.

We’ve put a lot of effort into testing and validation, and would love to hear thoughts or feedback from the builders here.

Design can be customised for additional charges.
