48v ~ 99volts, green time controller 4110

Nice akupak:) What is average range on 36V18ah? And What is average speed:)? I have 24V22ah, weight of this stuff it's about 14 kilos. Heavy:(.

hi alex,

i didn't buy the kelly controller, i buy the Conhismotor 1000watts 48v instead ( shipping+ whole kit = half price of cyclone kit). They price are too afforadle for me, that's why , i buy it. i think running a ebike the price must be nice so if there is any problem i can also change my controller " if is spoil" so far in here, i have seldom hear people complain their hub motor controller spoil, they have run them more then 3years , still good. In here, 95% of ebikers are hub motor user!

my 36v 18hr on the 20" wheel, the top speed is 45km/h , slower then Conhismotor and also troque too! going up the exactly the same hill 500watts from cyclone cannot match with the conhismotor 1000watts. Conhismotor 1000watts gets me 35km/h, the other one is 19km/h. Obvious different. for 900watts cyclone kit can do alot faster " gearing helps alot. i never try out full throttle, but half throttle from 900watts cyclone kit i can easily get 40km/h - on the same hill. more troque then conhismotor 1000watts. everything lose to 900watts cyclone kit. the only thing i can't accept, :( controller spoil again... this time is no for repair. i will rather get a x5304 or anything is hub motor.

i have never run 24v.. sorry. i don't know the top speed. it should be around 32km/h - 35km/h.

i open up my 900watts motor planetary gearbox. the 3 gears inside them - no sign of wear off, they looks Good. i had thought it was badly worn off. i think is the controller giving me the problem. in my eariler thought, i was thinking the planetary gears are weak and easily wear off,,, no no, they are strong. as long running speed less then 48km/h, it will keeps the small gears in good shape condition. i have never open up my 900watts planetary gears almost 1year, before i fix onto my bike, i have add lots of grease+ all type of grease, spray chain grease, keeping the gears strong.

cheers.

hi kentlim..

have you tired messaging (lyen) for a controller that may work with a cyclone motor..he does specialise in controllers..

an x5 motor would be sweet, but i think range wouldnt be so great pending on your battery ah and c discharge capacity, from what i understand the x5 are power hungry, but powerful..

what ever your next step is for a new motor, definatly get a programmable controller,so you can play around with amps, regen ect..

i think programming your own controller is the way to go...

Alex

hi dear friends,

im shifting chain motor.. to hub motors type for ebike. i think in the world more then 70% ebikes own hub motor, am i right? they
can't be wrong. new up coming electric motorbike also used hub motor, and more companies are making more hub motors also. i think
i have to find One big box and keep them inside.. cheers. end of this year, i will consider one more new motor. i got some new income
at year end.

Here my new ebike !! conhismotor 1000watts 48v , i have run more then 2200km, just in 4months time. this is much more neat looking ebike, it is easily maintance clean. i bought this kit in April or early may. this ebike doesn't takes more then 1600watts so many types of 2c lifepo4 battery can work happily with this controller. On average this kit can give me very good range 10-12 wh/ km. i ever clock from a vpower battery 48v 20hr ( 710.3watts Only) for 95km Per charged. im had a hard time to consider buy a x5303 or x5304, i really like to run a very efficiency ebike... keep on running without the worries looking back on my chain maintance. On my previous ebike, i had lots of spray greese on the chain to stay there tip top condition and in the end making the ebike looks dirty and ugly. the top speed on Flat is great 52Km/h, and if i run with a Good lifepo4 battery i can easily run at 50km/h .... all the way. Range is a important factor for me, as i like to run all over the 10estates. i bought 2 nice mirros Cost only SGD2.00 each. Best of all, this kit really good bangs for bucks USD250+ shipping to me.

cheers.!!

very nice mirrors.where did you get those? good to hear your enjoying your ebike. :)

those mirrrors I bought from my local shop, a friend of my. ONLY SGD2.00 crazy low price, i bought 2. on average in here singapore will sell a mirror at least sgd12.00. Mirrors must be huge like a motorbike. it must be build as near to the handle grip, so it is safe feature for ebike runner. i fix this mirror, i feel safer on road too. i have some small mirror, but they don't work well. Please avoid too small mirrors.

cheers.

HOw did my controller died ? i am not a experts in electronic knowledge. My speculation is simple, i can see the cyclone Fets is only 6. Most of good controllers the Fets is 9, 12, 18, better ones, 24, 36. however, ALL the cyclone external controllers the fets is 6 ONLY. the wiring from the controller => to the motor, everything is mixed and very confusing. i test it again, it was dead anyway. :x i am ordering a Controller from Chatparts, they will be sending to me soon coming this week. i believe to run a ebike properly, the fets must be at least 15 or 18fets (* for 1500watts and above ). I don't understand why cyclone still using with 6FETs.., they are not reliable+ even if they can work with 55amper ~ 60amper > over a time given , the 6fets.. i can understand they will GIVE up, anyway one day.

everytime, when i run this cyclone controller, the controller is always stay hot. (i didn't bother).. i have a photos open up the 900watts controller, no sign of blown. NOTHING.. and as usual Clueless !! This is my last dead controller. i think i got to Go back school and study some electronic..

Hi
Well I dont think I will be ordering any more controllers from cyclone looks like I will order one from Lyen
Cyclone controllers can't handle batteries hot off the.charger Iam on controller number 3 in less than 500 miles The info from cyclone is to unplug all the connectors before charging
But fair play to cyclone controller no.3 came.free just a shame they are rubbish

hi Fenman,

6Fets is abit of joke, in my opionion. the 500watts cyclone internal controller i think is 5fets , if im not wrong. my conhismotor controller build casing is not very beautiful and seem cheaply build , YES, i can admit that. But inside of controller have said to have 15fets. The inside is the real matter for the circuit board for real endurance. once i got my New controller from Chatparts.com , i will try and see how if it works with cyclone or not.

(I think, not yet test, but soon )
Thick phase wires RED for cyclone = goes to Phase A (Yellow thick wire / new controller wire)
thick phase wire white = goes to phase B (GREEN thick wire / new controller wire )
think phase wire Black = goes to phase C (BLUE thick wire / new controller wire )

cheers.

I am running over 2kw through a 6fet. Stays cool, has been rock solid. Of course it has 6 very good fets, but still on 6.

thank you very much. adrain,

i learn something from you. 6fets seem to work well too for 2000watts!.. interesting.

They may only have 6 FETs, but at least they are large TO-247AC packaged IRF2907's (in the 48V versions anyway). the vast majority of the 12 > 36 FET cheap mainland China controllers run TO-220 package FETs. Whats the difference between TO-220 and TO-247AC packages you ask?

TO-220 packages have comparatively higher on resistances, lower silicon, wire bond and lead current ratings, and higher Junction to Sink thermal resistance due to a smaller die and lower heat path surface area compared with TO-247AC packaged FETs. (They get hotter for a given currnet, cant flow as much current, and cant shed heat as readily). Also, the models of FET's used in the mainland China Controllers are far from the best available whereas IRF2907's are pretty good.

Even 12FET Mainland China built controllers can often be improved by swapping out the cheapass FETs for better alternatives amongst other small mods, and no doubt can be made more powerful than the Cyclone controllers. The point is, the number of FET's alone doesnt tell the whole story.....

thank you boostjuice. i hope i can understand, im abit dumb to electronics, but im learning. my new controller will be coming maybe tomorrow. it is 60v 1800watts/ 18- 4130mostfets. Good price usd39.00 only. im doing a test on cyclone motors too, hopefully it can spin my both motors, external ones. BIG and small motors. they will run no load. + this new controller from Chatparts, i will be also testing to run on my hub motor to see, how it spins. as for me going 65km/h will be just nice. Hopefully there is something to replace.. cyclone controllers. i won't be betting anymore on cyclone controllers, since this number didn't give me a win every time, im trying other numbers to bet on again.

it should be chatpart.com

Spokes? i have some 26inch spokes , solid stainless steel ones. 12g, very quality. to my surprised, it is so easily to build and make one spokes. all i need is a " Round split dies/ adjustable " even without a handle grip, with a table cramp. you can just use your hand and turn the dies, slowly.. " ONE dies cost few dollars only. in here, sell SGD6.00 ONLY.

just now, i build 3 spare spokes of 165mm. solid stainless steel grade, 12g for my conhismotor. im abit impatient and unable to wait for a order from spokes makers. it took me few hours of study, now.. i can make one spokes under 3mins.

(** 3 thing you need is correct dies sizes+ table cramp**+ stainless steel spokes 26" )

1. cut to the prefer size you want. (length)
2. take the spokes and table cramp it there,
3. put on the dies on top the spokes. and thread it...
4. few mins, one new born 12g spokes is there.

you save $ and time not to order and it is maybe too short or too long. if is a professional spokes builder is okay, but if you have order from Unknown seller spokes builder. they maybe build too long or too short.. in the end, you still need a correct size spokes!
with a table cramp, i can use my hand and thread one new spokes! EASY!!

cheers.

hi,

I just sorted out a terrible problem for my ebike. The drop out for my bicycle grip is just 60% gripping, so the wheels keep on come out of my ebike. i found a solution, i have kept some steel LED TV, stand , it has a 3mm thick steel.. i cut it with a saw, and file them. so now my troque arm thickness is 8mm and 9mm. it seem to work very well. it really needs a metal plates to prevent the drop out. using a ebike.ca troque arm v3, don't help for me. it can prevent the spin, but it still drop out of my wheel. Finally i have no choice to put some efforts and thinking adding a 3mm steel plate.

my lastest build troque arm. it works well.. and my test after my ride. the hub motor stay in the same position. as for my cyclone i had remember i have run all the 5000km range, no need any troque arm. becasue the grip is excellent. except for the hub motor, it will drop out if is not properly build. oR even if rider pedal manually, the wheel will drop out also. both of my troque arms, has another purpose, it hold my rack alot better. my freewheel side looks ugly abit.

Hi

I'm thinking of getting the same motor you have for the rear wheel, do you have 5 or 6 gears on the freewheel and could you tell me the required separation of the frame (width of the motor + freewheel + spacers)

Thanks, and also thanks for the battery advice you gave me the other week.

Simon

hi simon,

the rear width should be 135mm. it will certainly works and fit most of the ebike. They gave me is 5 gear. Quality isn't good, but it is okay for me. i don't pedal so much. im unable to measure the actual width/ spacers. this hub motor will certainly fit in my old bike or the new one. i have a 8 gears , when i bought the new bicycle from the shop. i was lazy to changed it, i think as long i can pedal at a speed 15km/h "let say by manually" slowly i also can get 10km/h. This motor i have ride more then 2800km today.. i think it is easily a close eye to hit 5000KM without worries..

cheers.

Hi,

I have seen your pictures, looks good !

Can you tell me something about the noise of the 1000 watt hub ?

I would like to reach 50km/h on a flat road with a 26inch rear hub, would that be possible with 44,4 v Lipo ? I can make a 66,6v Lipo but Conhis don't sell more than 48v controller.

Do you or anybody else know if it is possible to use another controller that can handle the 66,6v ( full charge 75v ) Or is that to high for the Conhis HUb motor ?

Thanks !

Hi Bazaki

im not too sure if this Conhis motor of 1000watts can take a higher voltage or not. i have a additional controller of 60v 1800watts , i have tested it on my hub motor of conhis, free wheel run speed can get 76km/h, . i think if is loaded with me 65kg light weight guy, i think i can get a speed at least 63km/h. so far there is nobody yet has over volts conhis motor to 60v, but i think it is possible. my standard controller comes with it, can easily reached 52km/h (becos im light 65kg). for running full throttle on conhis 48v, i can say this motor is barely warm. (seem it can take more volts). speed like 45km/h ~ 50km/h has pleased me well so, i didn't went to run more volts. i have enquire from BMsbattery.com but they never reply me back. i intend to buy 12v lifepo4, 4 cells + bms + 12v charger. i also forget about it.

conhismotor is really fun so far soo good for me now. controller keeps going since i run it. I put all my cyclone kit (motor at one side) ha ha. i didn't even go and bother repairing them

I'm sure 18s would not be a problem with a good controller, but beware of high currents, the stock phase leads are something like 18awg or 1,5mm²! They are good quality teflon coated wires however
I like this hub for its power, never gotmine warm at 800w continuous, it would probably take 3-4kw easy with proper phase wires, I'm thinking of getting a second one to make a portable wake-skim winch!

im waiting for somebody in here to test it and run alot more volts or 3000watts on Conhis motor of 1000watts motor. i really like to know the top speed for this motor it can take it.

Due to a change in my cyclone motors sound, I took the gearbox apart and found the lube had become way too solid and had migrated to places of no use to the gears.

soo, time to clean and relube.

Any suggestions for a good lube to get for these gearboxes? Synth 90 wt?

any experince?

thankx
