6 amp charger for PING lipo packs??

i have bought a battery made with the same v3 packs as Ping, the 5amp cells, and the guy has run out of 3a chargers, so has offered to send me a 6a pack. as i have a 3a charger, i have accepted the 6a. but he doesnt sound 100 percent sure of the 6a one...

he sais ... Maybe you would like to try the 6a fast charger? Pings battery page sais that his batteries have to be under 5a... i guess i should refuse the 6a in case i puff some cells?

The BMS is supposed to be able to take 5 amps. Does the 6 amp charger actually put out 6 amps? I doubt it. But I bet if the charger puts out an actual 5.3 amps, the BMS could take it. I doubt it just goes poof at 5.1 amps. Make sure he'll send you a new bms if the thing does cook of course.

first off, ping does not sell lipo.

second, ping does not allow other ebay sellers to use his name or product or any reference to him. this guy has no relationship to ping.

They may be pouch cells, but they aint pings, even if the cells come from the same factory. It's only a ping if it comes with ping's customer service. If it's you know who, he'll send absolutely anything out to a customer.

that is what I meant! the same 5ah cells as ping only, presumably the factory that makes them has an output of 1000 ds of them every week.

last time i bought the same battery as ping but not made by ping, from anna, the customer service was non english, but the hardware was AWESOME. that was december 2007. however you are right i dont want to overcharge it! i can say that he has been VERY good communicator and kept me in touch with all the postage etc. ping was selling his for the same price as this guy to begin with, he has just put his prices up from 400 to 750 dollars, and that is measuring in EURO values which should be static.
