Hi, I've got a crystalyte 407 hub motor with a 36 to 72 volt controller, not the pedal first kind. I'm currently running a 48 volt nicad pack. I'm wondering if it would be possible to get a second 48 volt nicad pack and run them in series using my controller, anyone know? Would I have to modify anything? Thanks!

the controller need mod you have to change the mosfet first they call them 4110 fets maybe you will need 100 volt capacitors depend on what kind of controller brand you have , infineon? crystalyte? if you not skilled in electronics you can ask Lyen ,Steveo, methods, they repair ,mod and they sell controller.

I have run 100v on the stock clyte 36~72v controllers, with nicad you get significant voltage sag under load so the operating voltage will be somewhat in the range of a 72v lipo pack.... just make sure the hot-off-the-charger voltage is below 100v when you plug it in.

this is not a guarranty that it will not blow the controller, but i've done it before. unfortunately not all controllers are built the same.

Hey Gaston its a good point you remember the controller you sold to me , its was my first crystalyte controller doing 72 volt set up with ping battery i really thing the 4310 fets are not so strong   for high voltage , but steveo make the repair with the 4110 fets and its was almost bullet proof
