Oh, they came to town here. Put up signs in advance that they were coming, like the 'Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus' used to.

Wow. You must live in a world of asshats.

You only make it seem that way. I'm not ALWAYS reading your posts.

So hey, I'm gonna be in the country, the celphone thingee for getting online works even worse there, not sure how much you'll see of me. Sorry, I won't be able to be so responsive to your needs and you're just going to have to be pitching your roadapples at some of the others for awhile. Try not to think about myself and all the others having a life right now, just realize the holidays will soon be over. If you MUST go to the mall, go Christmas day, noone will get hurt that way.

Oh, but I'll go ahead and say one thing that'll really piss you off: MERRY CHRISTMAS, and a HAPPY NEW YEAR! I know, that was as bad as you feared. . . .

When in D.C. last year I went down to be with the occupiers and signed the banner had a free meal. It was so well over organazine with the food wagon things it got meted down. I guess with the food lines the focus melted. So to control the next rally they don't need rubber bullets and pepper spray just some dounuts will turn the crowd. And yes what's with peppere spray and rubber bullets doing in a rally in the USA anyway ? Thuds

Edit add : Hey Flathill I'm coming over to get some of what your drinking the hoogh in a mason jar.
Who needs a 5000 watt ebike when you got a hoogh jar full of lighting

Happy Holidays Dauntless....you deserve it!

The real joke is on Wangxiang

Only 1 bidder slipped in at the end of the day

MR. McGUIRE: Yes. This is Dan McGuire from
Navitas.
Our bid is for the same government assets as in
our previous APA. However, we'll modify the APA to
exclude any assets that are in the last W bid that was
made on the record.
In addition, we'll be adding all the equipment
in Korea to be removed by Navitas at our expense.
The Debtor will have the condition that if
we're not able to reach agreements with W with respect
to transition services and IP license, et cetera, it
will obviously have no obligation to close. So that our
deal cannot impede the W transaction. Likewise, we will
have an out if they're unable to reach terms on those
documents.
And our purchase price on those assets will be
2.25 million.
MR. POHL: Okay. Does anybody else wish to bid on
the government business?
Okay. So, similarly, that is the highest,
best, and only bid for the government business.
We will adjourn the auction to complete the
documentation. And we'll see where we are tomorrow.

Alan ElShafei, Chairman and Founder of Navitas Systems, said “In our due diligence of A123’s government business leading up to last week’s auction, we received detailed briefings on the impressive depth and breadth of A123’s proprietary Nanophosphate lithium ion battery chemistry and *****other advanced technologies**** being developed for critical government and military applications”

The funny thing is they could have bid a penny and won
But that would make it obvious the auction was fixed

A123 has some pretty bad ass battery capacitor hybrids with maxwell skunk works
120 Wh per kg
100k cycle life to 90%

http://www1.eere.energy.gov/vehiclesandfuels/pdfs/merit_review_2011/electrochemical_storage/es038_smith_2011_p.pdf

Which is why JCI was bidding on all assets including military
http://investors.maxwell.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=94560&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=1129875&highlight=

Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk says he bets that it could be capacitors — rather than batteries — that deliver an important breakthrough for electric transportation. “If I were to make a prediction, I’d think there’s a good chance that it is not batteries. But capacitors,” said Musk at the Cleantech Forum in San Francisco on Wednesday.

Looks like they are the chosen company for the continuation of A123 battery business with the US military. Funny (not funny ha-ha) how they were the only bidder for a guaranteed cash flow from Uncle Sam...back room dealing I suppose. :?

And, they don't seem to be publicly owned so John Q. Public can't even get a piece of it. :?

Snip.....
Nancie ElShafei, CEO and owner of Navitas Systems, said “The suite of advanced battery technologies coming soon to military and government agencies is being developed by an even more impressive group of world-class scientists and engineers. We’re determined to maintain and grow this organization as a strategic asset in maintaining U.S. competitiveness”.

"The military demand for secure, small and light-weight unmanned surveillance and reconnaissance systems is surging. Whether airborne, land-based, seaborne or submersible, such systems will turn to safe, efficient batteries for electric power or propulsion”, said USAF Lt. General (Ret.) Mark Shackelford. “Navitas Systems has the innovative expertise to bring advanced chemistry solutions to lithium ion energy storage and power management systems, and is well-postured to become a preferred supplier for this rapidly expanding market." ....snip

What the auction was for was the government contracts
But it was actually their whole Ann Arbor R&D staff and prototype plant
And the korean pre production mid size plant
Pretty sweet deal
Remember a123 are high power because of their carbon tech (doped graphitic oxide)
Graphene

Here is how to make 106 Wh per kg lithium capacitors
http://www.researchgate.net/publication/232741895_Functionalized_Graphene_for_High_Performance_Lithium_Ion_Capacitors/file/79e4150aaa3ee5e63d.pdf
Perfect capacity retention after 1000 cycles

My source told me a123 had lithium capacitors at 120 Wh per kg 5 years ago
With quadruple the power density of the paper listed above
