Hi everyone,

I'm considering a purchase of the following ebike:

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2015-72V-3000W-Stealth-Bomber-Electric-bike-bicycle-Motorcycle-for-Panasonic-37-7AH-Li-ion-battery/32464551472.html?ws_ab_test=searchweb201556_0,searchweb201602_3_10057_10056_10055_10049_10017_405_404_10059_407_10058_10040,searchweb201603_2&btsid=63d82415-7f87-48dc-9204-ae251a910000

Are you guys familiar with this company? How is the quality and reliability?

Thanks for your help.

Well... First, welcome to the forum...

That thing is a shining example of why this forum exists. Specifically, to help people avoid mistakes like that. That thing is the ebike equivalent of this cute little girl:

They can't even keep their ratings consistent. one place lists it as a 500 watt bike, another lists it as a 3000 watt bike. the battery size doesn't match the range. The parts list is a combo of utter crap and dubious but awesome sounding parts that have no place on a bike with those specs. After reading the specs, I get the impression that someone decided to build a bike with the coolest sounding parts to sell to the uninformed.

Avoid.

If you tell us what you're looking for, or what you hope to do, we might be able to make some suggestions.

Thanks for the response. I'm looking for something similar to the Stealth Bomber ebike, for some casual offroading and commuting. Are there any less expensive alternatives you would suggest, or is the Stealth Bomber my best bet?

Best news for you is that it's no longer available. Don't know where you reside, but if you want it for commuting, you might consider a more bike-looking bike.

If you're looking for something like a stealh, the only real choice in prebuilt bikes is a Stealth. they do come in 2 versions, and the Stealth Fighter is cheaper than the Bomber.

For something that looks like a Stealth but isn't close to being a stealth, though still a good ebike, you can get a Vector

Or you can build one your self with better specs for around the same pricew.

If you're just looking for casual riding on some light trails, that kind of thing doesn't take a light weight electric motorcycle like those listed above. if you want bike like performance without pedaling, a decent offroad ebike can be built for trails under $1500
