Hello all, I just got done scouring the reviews section, and I couldn't find much, so I am asking here.

I would really like to hear from someone who has an Amped Bikes tube battery like this:

My understanding is that they are now 36V 12AH, and have a reliable BMS (something that is rare indeed with E-Bike batteries) so I am wanting to get some information from someone who has had one for a while, hopefully for a year or so, but even if you have only used yours for 3 months I would like to hear your experiences.

Thanks! :)

I just pm'd you more info then you needed , but figured id make a couple points here just because I recently bought and then sold this same battery.

The main point is my tube battery was advertised as 12ah by Amped and also by the box labels sent to me, but the most I could ever get out of this
battery was 9.4ah regardless what I did. When asked the owner of amped said they had modified chargers and I wasn't charging mine enough so he sent
me one. Even with the new charger I was still getting 9.4 ouf of the battery before it would shut off.

The look packaging and workmanship of the unit was very nice. It helps make a clean install and places the battery in a nice low spot. I did have some
concerns with voltage sag under use , but it never tripped anything or caused other problems.

On amped's forums there are a decent amount of people complaining about rain getting into the BMS and failing their battery. So if ever in the rain that
needs to be a pretty good concern to cover up that top part where I think it's located.

36v10ah for 600 bux to me is a bit steep and if I know now what I did then I would never have purchased it. Curious what others have to say. I do think
at some point they were selling a 12ah battery , but with the Japan problems in the last year I think amped scrambled to have someone else building these
batteries and it has added a long lead time and different components to what they were selling previously.

Wow, I guess even the Amped Tube battery doesn't have a bullet proof BMS, thank you for sharing this information, hopefully it just means that they need to have better protection from the rain.

I wonder how much trouble the EV cars have with their BMS's and we just don't hear about!

Yeah, not bullet proof, bms fails when operated soaked in water. The water bottle battery looks pretty weather tight, but I think I'd want a fender on my front wheel if I was using one. I dunno, is it just me, I figure you at least want to cover up your battery in the rain, no matter what kind it is or what box it may come in. Guess common sense is not so common.

If you are using an Amped Bike tube battery the first thing you may want to do is check your charger.
If your charger is putting out over 42.1 Volts you are hurting your batteries.
The tube battery is made up of 40 18650 3.7V batteries. 4 rows of 10 batteries. (10S 4P)
The spec sheets on all the 18650 batteries say (4.2V Maximum) 10 in a line is 42 Volts.
If your charger is over 42 Volts it will affect the weakest battery first.
If only one or two of the 40 batteries goes out your whole battery needs to be replaced.
This is true of all the tube batteries on the market.
Of all the tube batteries on the market Amped Bikes battery is one of the best but all of them need to be treated well
if you expect them to perform well.
18650 batteries keep improving and there are a lot of fakes out there, Amped Bikes used Panasonic.
Panasonic and Sony are both very good and dependable.
If you want to know how many Amp hours your battery is you need to know which 18650 batteries you have.
If you have the 2000mAh batteries and your tube is 36V (10S 4P) that will give you an 8Ah battery (2000x4)
If you have the 2500mAh batteries you will have a 10Ah battery (2500x4)
